Hidden Gems: Meet Casey Hansen of Red One Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Hansen.

Hi Casey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Much like the rest of the world, my life changed in the year 2020. I was let go from my job in December, 2 weeks before Christmas with a dwindling job market ahead. I knew I didn’t want to put my fate and livelihood in the hands of anyone else so it was time to set out on my own. Like any single gal at the time, I met a man through a dating app and he was interested in short term rentals. He mentioned if I wanted to hang out, I needed to come with him to stage a new short term rental home. I ended up falling in love with the industry, dropped the guy, and started my own company. Looking back over the past 4 1/2 years I have managed to land over 50 properties managed today. I focus solely on managing short-term rentals in the Dallas Fort Worth area for every day investors like you and me looking to build wealth for generations to come.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest challenge in running a business is the challenge of myself, especially starting off in the business without having had a ton of prior experience. Confidence and preparedness is the key to landing new clients, and I have always struggled with the confidence piece. As I met other industry leaders I realized I wasn’t far behind everyone else, and eventually learned to stand on my own two feet. There are certainly challenges in any industry, but specifically in the short term rental world, the landscape changes monthly. From the real estate industry highs and lows, to travel demand swings, to changes within major software platforms that the customers of this industry are accustomed to booking through. When starting a business you don’t expect to be an accountant and a lawyer and an IT professional and a therapist, but it all comes with the territory and you either sink or swim with the challenges.

We’ve been impressed with Red One Management, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Red One Management is a fully turnkey property management company that specializes in short-term rentals in the Dallas Fort Worth area of Texas. We manage everything from the day to day today maintenance and cleaning tasks on site to the full service marketing effort it takes to have a continuous flow of tenants in each home. Our standout feature is our communication and transparency with the property owners so they understand where their liability lies, what the current state of their home is, and how guests are being treated on their behalf. I am most proud of the staffing behind the company, they truly are some of the best people I know, and understand the importance of taking care of people. This is a people business as much as is a real estate business.
