Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Cyntia Brown
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I’m Dr. Cyntia Onuoha-Brown—a Clinical Pharmacologist and Integrative Fertility Expert with 13 years of training in biochemistry, pharmacy, and clinical research.
I completed a fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine, specializing in precision medicine, women’s health, and cardiovascular medicine. My expertise? Understanding how medications, food, and supplements interact with genetics to heal or harm your body.
I’ve built drug simulations to track how estrogen is metabolized in the female body—so when it comes to fertility treatments, I don’t just guess. I know how your body will absorb and eliminate a hormone, helping you make the most informed choices.
I’ve designed cardiovascular studies in women and analyzed drug trials, meaning I can cut through the hype and tell you which supplements are bioavailable, effective, and support PCOS, endometriosis, and hormone balance for conception.
I also guide women through IVF and fertility treatments, serving as an advocate so they can benefit from my 15 years of medical knowledge—without having to go to school themselves (lol).
But beyond the science, I’ve lived this journey too. I was once diabetic, had hypertension, sleep apnea, and joint pain due to being overweight. At 5’3” and 200 lbs, I feared infertility, especially given my family history of miscarriages and hormone disorders.
Using holistic methods rooted in science and genetics, I healed my body—and now I empower other women to do the same. When we combine holistic wisdom with hard scientific facts, we can conceive more efficiently and sustain healthy pregnancies.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all—this journey has been anything but easy. But I’ve learned that the struggles have shaped me into the person and professional I am today.
My biggest motivation is my child. Every time I face a challenge, I remember the fear I once had about infertility, the uncertainty of whether I’d ever be able to have a child. That fear pushed me to fight for my health, and now, it fuels my passion for helping other women navigate their fertility journeys.
I’ve had my own health battles—dealing with hormonal imbalances, and after giving birth, facing postpartum depression and anxiety. Those moments were some of the hardest, but they also deepened my empathy and understanding of the women I serve. I know firsthand what it feels like to be overwhelmed by your body’s changes and to feel like you’re struggling alone. That’s why I’m so committed to what I do—helping women regain control of their health, understand their bodies, and ultimately, achieve the motherhood journey they dream of.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but every obstacle has reinforced what I’m capable of. And most importantly, it’s given me a purpose far greater than myself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Tell us more about your business or organization. What should we know?
I’m the founder of Kopela Health, a science-backed, high-touch fertility and hormone optimization practice designed to help women take control of their health and fertility. My work is deeply personal—I know what it’s like to battle hormonal imbalances, fear infertility, and navigate the complexities of postpartum recovery. That experience, combined with my background as a Clinical Pharmacologist and Integrative Fertility Expert, allows me to offer a unique blend of personalized medicine, holistic health, and precision-based fertility support.
At Kopela Health, we specialize in helping women struggling with hormone disorders like PCOS and endometriosis, as well as those trying to conceive—whether naturally or through IVF/IUI. Our approach is different because we don’t offer generic protocols. Instead, we use advanced lab testing, genetic insights, and personalized nutrition and supplement strategies to help women optimize their health and fertility.
What sets Kopela Health apart?
Precision & Personalization: I take a data-driven approach, using labs and science-backed methods to tailor solutions for each woman’s unique body.
Beyond Fertility: While conception is often the goal, I help women restore hormone balance, regain energy, and unlock peak health—because true fertility is about thriving, not just getting pregnant.
High-Touch Support: Unlike conventional healthcare, I provide ongoing one-on-one coaching, 24/7 support, and deep client relationships.
What am I most proud of brand-wise?
I’m proud that Kopela Health is becoming a trusted name for high-achieving women who want answers, not bandaid solutions. My brand is about empowering women with knowledge and control over their health. I’ve helped women who were told they’d never conceive naturally become pregnant, and others who were struggling with fatigue, weight gain, or chronic hormonal issues finally feel like themselves again.
What do I want readers to know?
If you’re struggling with infertility, PCOS, or hormone imbalances, you don’t have to settle for “this is just the way your body is.” There is a root cause, and with the right strategy, you can heal. At Kopela Health, I help you optimize your hormones, understand your body, and take back control—so you can get pregnant, feel amazing, and thrive at every stage of life.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What do you like best about our city?
Dallas is such a vibrant and dynamic city with an incredible mix of innovation, culture, and opportunity. One of the things I love most is the thriving health and wellness community—there are so many people here who prioritize holistic health, fitness, and functional medicine, which aligns perfectly with my work at Kopela Health.
Beyond that, I love the food and shopping scene! One of my favorite spots is Blue Sushi Sake Grill (Blū Sushi)—it holds a special place in my heart because it was the first place I went for dinner after giving birth. It felt like a little moment of celebration, stepping out into the world as a new mom. I also love thrifting and shopping in Dallas—the city has some amazing vintage and boutique stores that make finding unique pieces so much fun.
What do you like least about our city?
If I had to pick one thing, it would be the traffic—it can be unpredictable, and getting across town sometimes takes longer than expected! But Dallas is so spread out and full of great places to explore that I don’t mind too much.
Another thing I’d love to see more of is women-focused, science-backed wellness spaces. There’s an amazing wellness community here, but there’s still room for more integrative approaches to fertility and hormone health. That’s part of what excites me about being in Dallas—there’s so much potential to change the conversation around women’s health and bring personalized, root-cause solutions to more women in the city.
