Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Cook.

Hi Erica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up where I was the black sheep and scapegoat of my family. I have experienced every form of abuse there is: emotional, mental, physical, sexual, etc., and I have been at rock bottom more times than I can count. One day, I finally had enough. I refused to let this be my story.
As a single mom of two boys (now 24 and 18), I knew I needed to make a change and show them how possible it is to heal from trauma and create a happy, successful, and balanced life.
After I made my declaration, I found my way to my spirituality, not because it was trendy, but because I was drowning and needed tools to survive. I had always been drawn to spiritual tools and practices since I was a kid, but never had the opportunity to dive in, because, let’s face it, I live and grew up in the Bible Belt. These things have been taboo and completely misunderstood. But, even early on, I noticed people would tell me their life stories and seek advice from me, even when I felt I was too young to be giving it, as if they sensed something in me that I didn’t yet know existed, so it felt like my spirituality was calling to me. It was time.
I met an incredible psychic named Deb, who became my first real mentor. She was so gifted that she helped police find missing people. She gave me mind-blowing insights into myself and the unseen world, and said she felt the need to guide and protect me because she knew I had abilities that were reawakening. When she passed suddenly a year later, it broke my heart, but she’d already opened the door for me.
Since people loved talking to me, I thought intuitive coaching would be my avenue, so I got certified in life and relationship coaching. Then I followed my spiritual curiosity, branched out, and became a Reiki Master, which is fascinating work in its own right. I got certified in Positive Psychology. Then, I found another incredible mentor, Shawn, who taught me Tarot, Metaphysics, and Numerology. My world was completely transformed. I finally had the collective knowledge and skills to take my power back and transform my life. It was like the dimmer switch within me had been cranked to full blast, and my light was finally shining through. I was ready to step into the role I was destined for.
If you follow or have even a simple understanding of Astrology, Numerology, and Human Design, you’d see that my natal astrological chart screams “spiritual leader and teacher” (Aries rising, Leo sun, Sagittarius moon, plus many other placements), my life path number 1 says the same, and my Human Design as a 6/2 Self Projected Projector seals the deal. Clearly, there’s no escaping it.
I had started my coaching business many years ago, and it was a very painfully slow-burning journey. It wasn’t until I had learned to master these tools and discovered who I am that everything started to magikally fall into place. It was like the Universe was waiting for me to complete my lessons.
During the pandemic, I found out there was a whole spiritual side to TikTok, the new, trendy platform we adults were discovering. So, I started making fun videos, and one evening, my account blew up, and it’s been growing ever since. That’s when I officially created Twenty2 Guru. LLC (www.twenty2.guru).
I got focused and built a six-figure spiritual business in, I think it was less than two years, practicing and teaching what I’d learned, not just from books and mentors, but from my natural abilities, as well as the experience I gained from clawing my way out of hell.
Since Tarot became trendy on social media so quickly, I was extremely frustrated by how watered-down and toxic mainstream Tarot had become. I have tirelessly built my platform, educating viewers on real Tarot, Numerology, spirituality, personal power, and especially on how to avoid getting scammed. I grew to over 330K followers across platforms by being direct and authentic, and by speaking on what’s broken in the spiritual industry, and I stand behind it all the way. People seem to appreciate that.
Oh, I’m also a professional singer in a cover band. It’s something I do to stay grounded, and I needed to conquer severe stage fright so I can realize my dream of singing and speaking on stage. I don’t want to have any regrets at the end of this life. This would have been one of them had I not achieved it.
I love my life. And now I get to help others love theirs by teaching them to reclaim their power through these ancient tools.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. Not only did I need to work through my own trauma, imposter syndrome, and how I had blocked myself, but I also needed to learn to ignore the naysayers, because let me tell you, they’re loud.
People don’t like it when you step out of their comfort zone. They don’t like it when you transform because they aren’t used to the new you, new boundaries, and growth.
And people especially don’t like it when you disrupt the schemes they’ve been working on unsuspecting people all this time.
I’ve had people that I know personally laugh at me, talk down to me, talk about me behind my back, and even leave my life.
I’ve had other “tarot readers” make response videos attacking me for exposing their tactics, like doing frantic, chaotic shuffling to make readings look more ‘mystical’ (it’s pure performance; that’s not how traditional Tarot works), making up card meanings to scare people into paying for readings, or pressuring viewers into expensive ‘curse removal’ services. The angrier they got, the more I knew I was hitting a nerve.
I had to get really thick skin. Knowing my soul blueprint and what I came to this life to accomplish helped me stay focused and unwavering.
The transformations my clients and students experience make it all worth it. Watching someone go from giving their power away to every guru and trend they see, to trusting themselves and their own intuition? That’s why I do this work. And the people who tried to stop me? They just proved I was onto something.

Twenty2 Guru is a spiritual empowerment and education company, but not the “love and light” kind you see all over Instagram. I specialize in teaching traditional Tarot, Numerology, Metaphysics, and spiritual business strategy; the real depth of these modalities, not the watered-down versions designed for social media content.
I’m known for calling out what I call “Pop Tarot”: the superficial, entertainment-focused approach that’s taken over social media. My whole platform is built on this: if you want to learn party tricks and get a bunch of likes, there are plenty of other teachers who follow that trend. But if you want actual mastery and transformation, you come to me.
What sets me apart: I don’t just teach theory I learned from books. I teach what I’ve lived and what the Universe has taught me through channeled understanding. What I’m most proud of: It’s not the follower count or the revenue, honestly. It’s the messages I get from clients and students who say they finally trust themselves. The ones who stopped giving their power away to every guru and trend they came across. The single moms who built businesses that gave them freedom. That’s the work.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Unwavering authenticity, even when it costs me.
I have been complimented on my authenticity more times than I can count, and I cherish that.
I’ve turned down opportunities that didn’t align with my values. I’ve lost followers by calling out popular toxic practices. I’ve had people tell me I’d make more money if I just softened my message or played the algorithm game.
But the moment I start performing or watering things down to avoid triggering people, I lose what actually makes my work powerful. I lose what makes me, me. My students don’t come to me because I’m easy or palatable; they come because they trust that what I’m teaching them is real and that I won’t bullshit them just to make a sale.
That authenticity is also what’s allowed me to build a sustainable business. When you’re genuinely yourself, you attract the right people and repel the wrong ones. I don’t have clients who ghost after one session or students who complain about not getting results, because they knew exactly what they were signing up for from day one.
The people who stay are the ones who are ready for real transformation, not just spiritual entertainment. And that’s made all the difference.
