Hidden Gems: Meet Jolianna Jones of Jolianna Jones Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jolianna Jones.

Hi Jolianna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After graduating college in 2023, I had no clear direction for my career, but I always knew I wanted to start my own business. Fitness had already been a huge part of my life for five years at that point, and I had considered getting my personal training certification. Post-grad, I decided to fully commit to that path.

At the time, I was working two jobs while studying on the side. Once I became certified, I started training clients at a private gym, where I spent a year gaining experience and learning from other trainers. I was able to build up the confidence and skill to know this is what I wanted to do full-time.

My long-term goal was always to create something of my own, so after that first year, I took the leap and launched Jolianna Jones Fitness. I spent a few months developing two programs (an at-home program and a gym-based program) and creating my website before expanding into 1:1 online coaching.

It’s been just about 10 months since I started with the 1:1 coaching! Like any other business, there’s trial and error- building up my book of clients, growing my business, and posting on social media. But, I am so excited to see where this journey takes me and how I can be a part of my clients’ journeys!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
From a surface level, it probably looks like it’s been a smooth road – and overall, it has been. Most of the struggles I’ve faced have been internal. There have been a lot of moments of self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and feeling impatient with my progress. I think those are emotions that almost every business owner experiences at some point, especially in the early stages of building something on your own.

At the same time, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a strong support system from the very beginning – friends, family, my clients, and even people I’ve connected with over social media.

Overall, my journey has been a slow, steady climb rather than an overnight success, and I’ve learned to value that process and the growth that comes with it.

As you know, we’re big fans of Jolianna Jones Fitness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Jolianna Jones Fitness is an online coaching business designed to help women build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits through fitness. I offer both structured programs (like my at-home and gym-based workouts), as well as 1:1 online coaching, where clients receive full personalized training, video demos of every exercise performed by me, weekly check-ins and adjustments, 100+ recipes and nutrition guidance, and access to my app.

I specialize in helping women take the guesswork out of fitness. A lot of women walk into the gym unsure what to do, how to structure their workouts, or how to properly progress over time. Many aren’t implementing progress overload, which is key to seeing real results. With my coaching, everything is laid out for them- they can show up to the gym without overthinking it, knowing exactly what they need to do and how to do it. Alongside that, I provide ongoing support to make sure their progress is sustainable, so they’re not only seeing results but also building confidence whenever they step into the gym!

I also heavily focus on helping women find balance. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck in an all-or-nothing mindset or feeling like they’re starting over every week. My approach is centered around creating realistic routines that fit their life, so they can stay consistent long-term and turn health and wellness into a lifestyle rather than a quick fix.

What sets me apart is my hands-on coaching style and background in personal training. Before getting into online training, I worked with clients from 13 to 76 years old, across all experience levels, goals, and even injuries. That experience taught me how to truly understand the body, adapt to different individuals, and coach beyond just a generic program. I think that foundation is crucial, and it allows me to provide a much deeper level of guidance to my online clients.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of the community I’ve built and the trust my clients have in me. A lot of my growth has come from word-of-mouth and client referrals, which means everything to me. It shows that what I’m doing is genuinely making an impact.

I want people to know that my brand is about sustainability, confidence, and feeling good in your own skin. You don’t need extremes to see results- you just need the right structure, consistency, and support.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
In terms of working out, I think it is important that people know that consistency is far more important than perfection. Finding workouts, nutrition, and habits that you can be consistent with will be how you see results! Looking back, I wish I had a mentor to guide me through the gym, workouts, and form/ technique. But through consistency, trial and error, and time, strength training has made me feel empowered in a way I have never felt before.

In terms of building a business, my advice is to focus on building a strong foundation and not rush the process. It’s easy to look for quick growth or compare yourself to others, but long-term success comes from consistency and actually getting better at what you do over time. For me, gaining real experience-especially working with clients in person-was one of the most valuable things I could have done. It allowed me to truly understand people, how their bodies respond, and how to adapt my coaching to different needs. So I would encourage coaches to focus on developing their skills and confidence first, not just the aesthetic side of their brand or social media.
