Hidden Gems: Meet Lara Anibire of LaidbyLara

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lara Anibire.

Hi Lara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was driven by my passion for the creation and styling of hair that helps women step into their confidence. Born and raised in Nigeria, I discovered my passion at an early age and first started designing and creating hair for my dolls as a child. After moving to America with my family, I started braiding as a side hustle throughout my high school and college.. after I graduated in the middle of the pandemic May 2022, I had a conviction to pursue my dreams and fully become a hairstylist and hair entrepreneur which led to the creation of LaidbyLara.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road.. learning about the craft and trying to improve your skills as the beauty world moves very quickly. Also learning customer service and what makes each customer happy and satisfied is also very important in this business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
