Today we’d like to introduce you to Othashia Harris.
Hi Othashia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Othashia Harris, but everyone who knows me calls me Bobbie. My journey in the beauty industry began right after I graduated from Paul Mitchell in 2015. I started my career working at various beauty counters in the local mall, where I learned how to connect with clients, understand different skin types, and refine my artistry in real time.
A few years later, I welcomed my daughter and took an extended break to focus on motherhood. When I returned, I decided to pursue a career in makeup. That choice required faith, discipline, and a willingness to take calculated risks — but keeping God first has guided every step.
Throughout my growth, I invested heavily in my craft. I shadowed established makeup artists, studied beauty influencers, practiced consistently with makeup models, and pushed myself to stay current with trends and techniques. As my skills and confidence grew, I took my biggest leap of faith: expanding into my own beauty office. That moment was a turning point for me. Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I bet on myself, trusted my purpose, and stepped boldly into the career I was meant for. My journey is a reminder that with faith, consistency, and courage, you can build the life you envision.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been easy, but I’ve learned that nothing meaningful in life comes without challenges. Throughout this journey, I’ve faced multiple obstacles that have tested my patience, confidence, and ability to balance motherhood with entrepreneurship.
One of the biggest challenges has been finding reliable childcare while growing my business. As a mother, it’s important for me to be present for my daughter, but as a business owner, I also have to show up for my clients and continue expanding my brand. Balancing both roles has required sacrifice, creativity, and a lot of faith.
Another challenge has been staying up to date with the fast‑moving world of makeup trends. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and I struggled with imposter syndrome during that period. I felt overwhelmed, like I wasn’t doing enough or wasn’t keeping up. Mentally, it became a lot to carry.
But pushing through those moments taught me resilience. It reminded me why I started, and it helped me grow not only as an artist but as a woman. Every challenge has shaped me into the professional I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of Musixhaus. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Yes, I am a professional makeup artist with 10 years of experience, and I also manage Medicare‑related claims for a corporate company. In my makeup career, I focus on enhancing women’s natural beauty and helping them feel confident, empowered, and seen. In my corporate role, I work from home, assisting with Medicare claims, ensuring our claimants receive the services they need, and that everything runs smoothly on their behalf.
As a makeup artist, I specialize in soft glam, full‑face glam, corporate event makeup, and bridal beauty services. What truly sets me apart is my professionalism, skill, and the energy I bring into every appointment. I am always prepared, always on time, and I show up with positivity and a strong sense of character. My clients know they can depend on me — not just for beautiful makeup, but for a luxury experience from start to finish.
What I’m most proud of is the growth of my brand. Over the past few years, I’ve invested in myself, refined my artistry, and watched my business transform in ways I once only prayed for. And the best part is knowing this is only the beginning, my brand will continue to evolve, elevate, and expand.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the beauty industry becoming even more innovative, inclusive, and technology‑driven. Makeup artistry is evolving quickly, and I believe we’re entering a phase where creativity and personalization will matter more than ever.
One major shift I see coming is the rise of skin‑focused beauty. Clients are becoming more educated about skincare, ingredients, and long‑term results, so makeup looks will continue leaning toward soft glam, natural radiance, and enhancing what’s already there. That aligns perfectly with my artistic style.
I also see a major shift in how makeup artists build their brands. Social media will remain a driving force, but authenticity will matter more than trends. Clients want to connect with artists who are professional, reliable, and consistent, qualities I pride myself on.
Overall, the beauty industry is moving toward more innovation, more opportunity, and more room for artists to create their own lane — and I’m excited to be part of that growth
