Today we’d like to introduce you to Quintel Gordon.
Hi Quintel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and moved to Dallas, Texas in 2016. Raised by a single mother, I had to grow up fast and take on the role of the man of the house. I never followed the traditional route—no college degree—but I was determined to find purpose through passion and hard work.
In 2020, I launched my first clothing brand, Underpaid Global, which gained real momentum—featured at both LA and New York Fashion Week and worn by professional athletes. By 2023, my passion began to shift. As a dedicated father to a 5-year-old son, I wanted to start a podcast about fatherhood. I bought a camera for the podcast, but instead, I discovered a new passion: photography and videography. That discovery led me to launch Gordon Media in December 2023.
Over the last two years, I’ve built a strong portfolio—working with and shooting for names like Dame Dash, Gunna, Aaron Donald, and many more. My visual work eventually connected me with major brands, including Lululemon, one of my most high-profile clients to date.
Along the way, I helped a friend and client explore brand partnerships using my growing network. That experience planted the seed for my next venture: Gordon Brand Connect, a consulting firm focused on helping athletes, influencers, and music artists land meaningful brand deals and build sustainable platforms beyond their talent also invest in companies.
Looking ahead, I plan to bring everything under one roof—launching a flagship space that houses both Gordon Media and Gordon Brand Connect. A true one-stop shop where creatives, athletes, and entrepreneurs can get everything from visual content and commercial production to brand strategy and consulting—all in one place. A space built for people like me, and the clients I serve.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I was battling depression, trying to figure out my true purpose, all while juggling a corporate job and my business. Finding balance between who I was in the corporate world and who I was becoming outside of it wasn’t easy.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a creative entrepreneur who specializes in visual storytelling and brand development. Through my company Gordon Media, I provide high-quality photography and video production—everything from brand campaigns and social content to commercial shoots. I’m also the founder of Gordon Brand Connect, a consulting firm focused on helping athletes, influencers, and music artists secure brand partnerships and build long-term brand value.
I’m known for my eye, my professionalism, and the way I treat people. Whether it’s a celebrity or a small business owner, I show up with the same energy and execution every time.
What sets me apart is that I live on both sides—I’m both the creative and the strategic mind. I know how to shoot a campaign and I know how to build the brand behind it. I also deeply understand what it’s like to come from nothing and still walk in rooms with confidence. I’ve created opportunities from scratch and built real relationships with high-level talent and major brands—all from trusting my vision.
I’m proud of the evolution. I started with a clothing brand—Underpaid Global—that made it to NY and LA Fashion Week. Then I pivoted into photography, fell in love with it, and within two years worked with names like Dame Dash, Gunna, Jim Jones, and brands like Lululemon. Now, with Gordon Brand Connect, I’m helping others do what I did—build something real, from the ground up.
That growth is what I’m most proud of.
Gordon Media is a full-service creative company offering photography, videography, commercial production, and content creation.
Gordon Brand Connect is my consulting firm where I help athletes, influencers, and artists land brand deals, build partnerships, and strategically grow their brand presence.
Soon, both businesses will operate under one roof—a flagship creative space and consulting hub that serves as a one-stop shop for content, strategy, and execution.
Whether you’re a brand looking to tell your story, or a public figure looking to build one—we’re here to help you make it happen.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
COVID changed everything. It forced me to slow down and really evaluate what mattered—mentally, emotionally, and financially. One of the biggest lessons I learned was how to sit with myself. Without the distractions of everyday life, I had to face things I hadn’t made time to deal with—my mental health, my purpose, my future.
I also learned the value of pivoting. That time made me realize that nothing is promised—not a job, not stability, not even tomorrow. It pushed me to stop waiting and start building. That’s actually when I leaned deeper into entrepreneurship and began to see myself not just as a hustler, but as a brand.
Another major lesson: discipline over motivation. During lockdown, you couldn’t rely on “feeling like it”—you had to be consistent even when there were no results in sight. That mindset is still with me today.
Most importantly, COVID taught me to trust God and trust the process. Even when everything around you feels uncertain, that internal peace and purpose are everything.
