Hi Robbie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been a professional photographer for nearly 15 years and opened my boudoir studio nearly 4 years ago. I used to photograph weddings and did boudoir sessions for my brides. After just a few sessions, I knew boudoir was all I wanted to do!
It sounds silly, but it almost has nothing to do with the photos themselves. It’s more about the experience and how you feel about yourself before and after your photoshoot. It can be so emotional and life-changing.
I fell in love with helping women see the beauty inside of themselves. I think as women, it’s easy to lose sight of who we are in the chaos of life. We’re busy taking care of everyone else, as moms, wives, navigating careers, we lose touch with the women we once were. A boudoir session can help reflect everything you’re feeling on the inside, outward in a photo. When I look in a mirror, I don’t always see the confident, sexy goddess living beneath the surface, a boudoir photoshoot can show you just that! It’s inside all of us, and I love bringing that out for women.
I want every woman who walks out of my studio to walk out loving themselves a little bit more, feeling seen and loved, and feeling more comfortable and confident in their own skin.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have struggled with weight my entire life. At one point, I weighed over 300 pounds. I know what it’s like to feel invisible and unimportant. I went from feeling depressed and miserable to literally changing women’s lives for the better, which in turn changed MY life. Every woman who walks into my studio has touched my heart in some way. I learned that we all have struggles. We all struggle with self-love and self-hate. Being a woman is a constant battle between reconciling what we see in the mirror with how we feel on the inside. I have built a community of women who support each other in loving ourselves, being kind to ourselves, and giving grace to ourselves. One of my favorite quotes is, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” We all need a foundation of self-love. My “DFW Bombshell Lounge” on Facebook is that community. We are a group of 5,000+ DFW women supporting each other in our self-love journey.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
There are not many surprises to me! LOL, I wear my heart on my sleeve. I’m probably known on the side for rescuing dogs. I saved one that was nearly struck off 635, and right now, we have a nearly blind and deaf senior dog who we found behind our house. He had been outdoors on his own for a long time; he’s just skin and bones. We’re nursing him back to health right now. He needs to get to a healthy weight to have surgery to fix a hole in his mouth that connects to his nasal cavity. He is thriving!
