Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Esfandi.
Hi Tammy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always known I was meant to be an artist—I just didn’t know what that would look like.
In college, I followed a more traditional path, studying PR and Communications. That journey led me through roles at the San Antonio Express-News, into luxury residential property management, and eventually into the world of home mortgages as a loan officer. The work was rewarding on paper—fast-paced, people-driven, and financially stable—but something was always missing. I felt it in the quiet moments: I wasn’t fulfilled.
What I did know, though, was that I had an instinct for creating. A natural pull toward design, detail, and beauty—especially when it came to florals and gifting.
When the world slowed down during COVID, I finally had the space to explore that part of myself. I began designing floral arrangements and curated gift boxes for friends and clients, sharing them on Instagram without expectation—just passion. But the response was immediate. People connected with my work. They reached out. They ordered. They trusted me with their moments.
What started at my apartment kitchen table quickly grew into pop-ups around my community—small, scrappy, and full of heart. And somewhere along the way, I realized this wasn’t just a creative outlet—it was my calling.
So I took the leap. I walked away from corporate stability and chose to bet on myself.
From there, Presch Petals began to take shape—first in a modest garage workshop, then growing steadily as word spread and demand followed. As the brand gained momentum, I knew it was time to think bigger, even if I wasn’t entirely sure how.
An opportunity came in the form of a temporary retail space in West Village during Valentine’s season—a trial run that felt both exhilarating and uncertain. But it turned out to be a defining moment. It was a hit.
That experience gave me clarity—and confidence. I knew I was ready for something permanent.
After a long search, I found my home in the Dallas Design District, where Presch Petals continues to bloom—rooted in passion, built with intention, and inspired by the journey that started with simply creating something beautiful
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any meaningful journey, mine came with its share of challenges—each one shaping both me and my business in profound ways.
Early on, one of the biggest hurdles was credibility. Being young in the industry, I often felt overlooked when competing for larger contracts. There was an unspoken assumption that I lacked the experience or scale—but I learned quickly that talent has a voice of its own. Time and time again, my work spoke louder than any doubt, and that became my greatest advantage.
Another challenge was space. As demand for larger, more intricate events grew, I didn’t yet have the resources to maintain a full-scale studio. Instead, I adapted—renting temporary workspaces when needed, making things work season by season. It wasn’t always easy or ideal, but it taught me resilience and resourcefulness.
Financially, the early days required immense discipline and sacrifice. Every dollar I earned went straight back into the business—investing in essentials like floral coolers, shelving, materials, and eventually building a team for support. There was very little left over for anything else.
And on a personal level, that meant giving things up. There were moments I chose not to go out, not to shop, not to attend events with friends—because I was choosing to pour everything into building something lasting. It required a level of commitment that wasn’t always visible to others, but it was necessary.
Looking back, those challenges weren’t setbacks—they were the foundation. They refined my vision, strengthened my work ethic, and made every milestone that followed that much more meaningful.
As you know, we’re big fans of Presch Petals. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Presch Petals is more than a floral brand—it’s a philosophy rooted in intention, beauty, and storytelling. The name “Presch” itself is a play on words, blending *precious* and *fresh*—two qualities that define not only our flowers, but the experience we strive to create for every client.
We specialize in elevated, imaginative floral design for both everyday moments and life’s most meaningful celebrations. From intimate gestures to large-scale events, Presch is known for its distinct creativity, exceptional quality, and the genuine care infused into every arrangement and curated gift. No two designs are ever the same—because no two stories are.
What truly sets us apart is our approach. We don’t just create florals—we interpret vision. Every client comes to us with an idea, a feeling, or a dream, and we bring it to life through our artistry, adding our signature touch while staying true to what makes their vision unique. The result is something deeply personal, visually striking, and emotionally memorable.
As a brand, I’m incredibly proud of how far Presch has come. What began in my apartment kitchen has grown into a flourishing business that has had the honor of working with renowned names like Disney and Neiman Marcus, and being featured in Vogue Weddings. Those milestones are meaningful—but what matters most is the trust our clients place in us to be part of their most cherished moments.
Beyond design, giving back is a core part of who I am. I love to volunteer and support the Dallas community through philanthropic work, as a way of honoring the encouragement and support I’ve received along this journey. It’s important to me that Presch not only creates beauty, but also contributes meaningfully to the community that helped it grow.
At its core, Presch Petals is about connection, expression, and growth. We want our clients to feel seen, celebrated, and inspired—and above all, we want to bloom alongside them, bringing vibrancy, beauty, and intention into every moment we touch.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Presch Petals may carry my name and vision, but it has always been built on the strength of the people around me.
From the very beginning, my family has been my foundation. My parents, my brother, and my boyfriend were there in the earliest stages—helping me quite literally build my shop from the ground up. From demolition and build-outs to long nights preparing for events and pushing through the intensity of holiday seasons, they gave their time, energy, and unwavering belief in me when it mattered most.
My friends have also been an incredible source of support. They’ve shown up without hesitation in moments of need—processing flowers, making deliveries, breaking down events, and constantly spreading the word about my business. Their encouragement and willingness to step in at any moment has meant more than I can fully express.
As the business has grown, so has my team—an extension of the heart behind Presch. Their dedication, creativity, and daily commitment are a vital part of everything we do. I truly couldn’t do this without them.
And above all, my clients—both those who have been with me since the very beginning and those who continue to discover Presch every day—are at the center of it all. Their trust is what allows me to create, to push boundaries, and to bring their most meaningful moments to life through design. They are not just customers; they are collaborators in this journey.
It truly takes a community, and I’m endlessly grateful for mine.
