Today we’d like to introduce you to Cortena Williams.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started this business after an injury forced me to medically retire from Corporate America. When that chapter of my career suddenly ended, I had to take a hard look at my life and figure out how to move forward. That period of reflection involved a lot of thought, research, and imagining different possibilities. Eventually, the answer became very clear.
I’ve always believed that we’re put on this earth to serve. If I can help even one person, then I’m living out my purpose. With that in mind, I realized there was no better way to serve than by helping people who are dealing with catastrophic events — situations like water, fire, smoke, odor, mold, trauma or crime scenes, and other biohazards.
That’s how Williams Professional Water Restoration Service LLC was created. We’ve been proudly serving the community since 2014.
As we grew, we recognized that many of our clients needed more than restoration, they needed construction, repairs, and full rebuilds. So, we expanded our services to include construction and roofing. Since making that addition, we now operate as WPWRS Construction Services & Disaster Restoration, allowing us to truly function as a one‑stop shop for our clients.
Whether someone needs restoration work, new construction, remodeling, roofing repairs, or a complete roofing application, we’re equipped to handle it. We hold all the necessary licenses and stay up to date with changes in each industry and with evolving technology. That commitment allows us to provide professional, reliable service without adding stress to our clients’ lives.
We’re continuing to grow. Right now, we operate in four states and are preparing to expand into additional states in the near future.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I faced was entering a male‑dominated industry and having my experience and knowledge questioned simply because I am a woman. But I’ve always known my craft, and I’ve always been committed to staying educated, current, and competitive in this field.
Over the years, I’ve built strong business relationships and proven myself through the quality of my work. Every obstacle that came my way became something I learned from and ultimately overcame.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What should we know about Williams Professional Water Restoration Service LLC?
Williams Professional Water Restoration Service LLC was founded on resilience, purpose, and a commitment to serving others. After a career‑ending injury forced me to medically retire from Corporate America, I chose to build a business that helps people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Since 2014, we’ve been dedicated to restoring homes, businesses, and peace of mind for clients facing catastrophic events. Today, we proudly operate under the guiding standard: Licensed To Build – Trusted To Restore – Proven To Lead.
What do you do, and what do you specialize in? What are you known for?
We specialize in full‑service disaster restoration, including water, fire, smoke, odor, mold, trauma/crime scene cleanup, and biohazard remediation. As our clients’ needs grew, we expanded into construction and roofing, allowing us to rebuild what was damaged and provide complete, start‑to‑finish solutions.
We now operate as WPWRS Construction Services & Disaster Restoration, offering restoration, reconstruction, remodeling, new building construction, roofing repairs, and all full roofing applications. We’re known for stepping into chaotic situations and restoring safety, structure, and stability.
What sets you apart from others?
Our strength lies in our out of the box solutions to complex issues, integrity, expertise, and genuine care for the people we serve. We hold all required licenses, stay current with evolving industry standards and technology, and approach every project with professionalism and compassion. Clients trust us because we don’t just repair buildings — we help restore lives.
As a woman‑owned business in a male‑dominated industry, I’ve had to prove my knowledge and skill repeatedly. That experience has shaped our culture of excellence and our commitment to staying educated, competitive, and ahead of industry changes.
Our tagline reflects that commitment: Licensed To Build – Trusted To Restore – Proven To Lead.
What are you most proud of, brand‑wise?
I’m most proud that our brand represents reliability, compassion, and unwavering professionalism. People call us during emergencies, often on the worst day of their lives, and they trust us to protect their homes, businesses, and families. Building a brand that people feel safe turning to is something I value deeply.
I’m also proud of our growth. We now operate in four states and are preparing to expand further, all while maintaining the same personal, high‑quality service we started with.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is serving people with integrity, compassion, and excellence — especially during moments when they feel overwhelmed or vulnerable. This work isn’t just about restoring buildings; it’s about restoring stability, dignity, and peace of mind. I take that responsibility seriously because I know what it feels like to have your life suddenly change and to need someone you can trust.
I believe we are all put here to serve, and if I can help even one person through a difficult moment, then I’m fulfilling my purpose. That belief guides every decision I make and every service we provide. It’s why we stay licensed, educated, and competitive. It’s why we expanded into construction and roofing. And it’s why our standard remains: Licensed To Build – Trusted To Restore – Proven To Lead.
At the end of the day, what matters most is knowing that the work we do truly makes a difference in people’s lives
