Today we’d like to introduce you to Dylan O’Neal.
Hi Dylan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
For me, Fitness started at a young age. I can remember my mom dragging me to the gym with her when she would work out. I would have to go to the daycare part of the time while she worked out. Also, growing up, I played almost every sport. Basketball and Football really stuck with me. Being a shorter guy, I had to always train hard to be faster, stronger, and jump higher. So, I fell in love with training at that point. After College, I was in the music industry. I interned and worked and local recording studios and also, at one point, had a small Rap career lol. But during that time, I had to find a second job to help with my income. That is when I got my certification to become a personal trainer. During this time period, I met Jesse Levya and Tiffany Levya, and I joined the team at Outlaw FitCamp. In the beginning, I thought it was just going to be a part-time job. But it took over my life, and I have loved every second. I started off as a FitCamp coach and personal trainer. Now I am partner/owner of the Outlaw Fitcamp Location in Little Elm and Keller. I am truly blessed to have the mentors in my life that pushed me here, and also, I am grateful for Outlaw FitCamp.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No. I had to go through a lot of growing pains. I started training when I was 25. I had a lot to learn. Transitioning from just a trainer to a manager to an owner has been a struggle, and it has taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice. COVID was a struggle and blessing for us. During COVID, we had to shut down, and during the shutdown, we rethought our entire strategy and layout. We completely changed our class structure and came out with a brand-new product. It allowed us to get creative when everyone else in our industry stayed the same.
As you know, we’re big fans of Outlaw FitCamp. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Outlaw FitCamp specializes in small group training and personal training. We focus on Functional interval training. Our Fitcamp is 30 minutes of intense work, but we can also modify it for members as well. We are different in the sense that we only hold a maximum of 12 people in our group classes. By doing this, our members get more one-on-one attention during class. Also, we provide personal training. Many boutique-style training facilities do not offer both. But we do. We are proud of the lives we have helped change through fitness, and we look forward to being of service to many more.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
For me, it is a little bit of hard work, dedication, timing, and good luck.
