Inspiring Conversations with Jianting Tong of Chinese Medicine Wellness Center of America

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jianting Tong.

Hi Jianting, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Before came to United States, I was graduated in China with master degree for 8 years majored in acupuncture and herbal medicine. Between 1989 to 1998, I teach and practice acupuncture in Beijing China, and then invited to USA to teach at acupuncture school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, In 2001, I came to Dallas, Texas starting teaching acupuncture at local school and opened my own practice.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
first few years were slow which is quite common, and the business getting better and better.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We do traditional Chinese acupuncture and use Chinese herbal medicine to treat and prevent an array of diseases. We see patients from all walks of life, with acute concerns such as sports-related injuries to nagging or chronic conditions: We specialize in pain management, infertility, headaches, migraines, anxiety, stress, depression, allergies, sinusitis, arthritis, digestive disorders, poor immune system, menopause, PMS, skin disorders (Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis), hypertension, diabetes (or pre-diabetes), insomnia, weight loss, erectile dysfunction, libido, etc.

We strive to achieve what conventional medicine does not. Many of the patients who walk into our clinic already have sought help from G.I. doctors, cardiologists, endocrinologists, fertility specialists, ENT doctors, dermatologists, etc., with little to no success. Usually upon screening these patients, conventional doctors will find nothing out of the ordinary and recommend them to rest. However, their conditions most likely will get worse. By the time there is undeniable evidence (i.e. in blood work, MRI, or CT scan), it is already too late to start treatment. for example, infertility, pre-diabetes, In other cases, we are the patient’s last hope, as they may have already struggled through multiple rounds of treatment elsewhere, with no luck. for example, digestive disorders, acne, eczema. We have been able to find great success for both of these situations.

Additionally, if necessary, we provide holistic lifestyle advice to our patients, such as tips on how to achieve a healthy work-leisure balance, sleep schedule, and diet. In doing so, we aim to get to the root cause of these conditions and prevent them from snowballing into a life-altering ailment.

We would like readers know that acupuncture is an approachable and can be an effective alternative to conventional medicine. Our needle techniques are unique, honed by decades of experienced, and patients will feel no pain during acupuncture sessions. In fact, we are known for our simple and efficient treatments; unlike other acupuncturists, we prefer to use as few needles on the body as possible for each treatment. The same principle applies for our herbal medicine prescriptions.
