Today we’d like to introduce you to Rick Ramirez.
Hi Rick, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I studied Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Babson College, where I really developed an early passion for building things from the ground up and understanding how businesses grow.
After college, I worked with two startups in their early stages and helped scale them from very small operations into products distributed in over 50,000 retail doors nationally. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for sales, marketing strategy, and what it actually takes to grow something in a competitive market.
From there, I moved into commercial construction as a project manager at Walmart Home Office, overseeing large-scale remodels and expansions. That role sharpened my ability to manage complex projects, communicate clearly, and execute at a high level under pressure.
Eventually, I brought all of that experience into real estate. Today, I’m a REALTOR® based out of Colleyville-Southlake, combining marketing, entrepreneurship, and project management to help clients navigate one of the most important decisions of their lives. I’m also very involved in the community, which keeps my work local, grounded, and personal.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all, and I think that’s pretty normal if you’re actually building something.
The biggest challenge has always been starting over in new environments. Moving from startups, to corporate construction, to real estate meant I was constantly stepping into roles where I had to earn credibility quickly, learn fast, and figure things out without a safety net. There’s no playbook for that kind of transition, especially when you’re responsible for real outcomes and real money is on the line.
The startup world in particular was a grind. Long hours, limited resources, and a lot of uncertainty. We were building systems while trying to grow at the same time, and there were plenty of moments where things didn’t go as planned. You learn quickly that consistency matters more than intensity.
Even in real estate, the learning curve doesn’t stop. Every transaction is different, and early on I had to learn how to manage not just deals, but expectations, emotions, and timing for multiple parties at once.
Looking back, the struggles were really just reps. They forced me to get sharper, more disciplined, and more intentional about how I work.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rick Ramirez, GRI – Ebby Halliday Real Estate?
I’m a REALTOR® in the DFW area working primarily in residential real estate, helping clients navigate buying and selling with a very structured, straightforward approach. Most of my business centers around people making major lifestyle moves, whether that’s upsizing, relocating, or selling a home they’ve outgrown, and needing someone who can keep the process organized and moving in the right direction.
My foundation comes from a mix of marketing, entrepreneurship, and operations. I studied Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Babson College, which really shaped how I think about building and scaling anything from the ground up. After that, I worked with two startups in their early stages and helped them grow into national distribution across more than 50,000 retail doors. That environment taught me how to sell, adapt quickly, and build momentum with limited resources. Later, I moved into senior project management in commercial construction with Walmart Home Office, where precision, timelines, and accountability were everything.
That blend now shows up in how I run my real estate business. I approach every transaction like a project with a clear plan, defined steps, and constant communication so clients always know where things stand. My core strengths are honesty, transparency, and communication. I don’t overcomplicate things, and I don’t leave clients guessing.
What I’m most proud of is not just the results, but the trust I’ve built along the way. A lot of my business comes from repeat clients and referrals, which tells me people value how I show up just as much as the outcome. For me, it’s less about trying to be everything to everyone and more about being reliable, clear, and fully present for the people I serve.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Just that real estate is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make, and they deserve someone who takes that seriously. Not someone who’s just chasing a deal, but someone who’s actually invested in getting it right.
I also think the bar in this industry is a lot lower than it should be, and I genuinely want to be part of raising it, both for clients and for the profession as a whole. That’s part of why I stay involved locally, whether through city boards, community events, or mentoring students in the area. I want to show up in a way that goes beyond the transaction.
At the end of the day, I’m a husband, a dad, and a neighbor before I’m a REALTOR®. That keeps me grounded. The people I work with aren’t just clients on a spreadsheet. They’re families making real decisions about their lives, and I think that perspective makes me better at what I do.
If anyone reading this is thinking about buying or selling in the DFW area and wants a straightforward conversation, I’m easy to reach and always happy to talk.
