Hi Yuris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We are ONESHOT Event Decorations, a family-owned event décor business based in DFW, created by two sisters-in-law with a shared passion for creativity, celebrations, and transforming spaces. We had always loved making our personal events extra special, and everything really started after one of our sons’ 1st birthday back in 2021. One of us had started making balloon garlands, and the other brought up the idea of turning it into an actual business. Since one of us naturally loves planning and design while the other enjoys building and creating installations, we quickly realized we were the perfect match.
We started with birthday celebrations and smaller party setups, but as time went on, our passion and creativity continued to grow. We began incorporating faux florals, draping, custom backdrops, and larger installations for weddings, quinceañeras, corporate events, and milestone celebrations across the DFW area. We’re especially grateful that since 2023, we’ve been able to expand beyond balloons and truly grow into the floral and luxury event design side of the industry.
What makes ONESHOT Event Decorations special is that every setup is personal to us. We truly enjoy helping bring our clients’ visions to life and creating spaces where people can celebrate some of the most important moments in their lives. Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with amazing clients, venues, and vendors, and we continue to grow through hard work, creativity, and the relationships we build along the way.
Today, ONESHOT Event Decorations continues to evolve while staying true to why we started creating beautiful, meaningful events with heart, creativity, and a strong family foundation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. One of our biggest challenges was balancing family life, motherhood, and building a business at the same time. There were many late nights, early mornings, and weekends dedicated to preparing for events while still managing our personal responsibilities.
Another challenge was growing from smaller balloon setups into larger event installations, florals, and luxury designs. As the business grew, we had to constantly learn new skills, invest back into the business, and gain confidence in taking on bigger projects.
Like many small businesses, we also faced challenges with budgeting, equipment, transportation, and learning the business side of the industry. But every obstacle helped us grow stronger, more creative, and more confident in what we do today.

Something many people may not realize is how much of our work is truly custom and handmade by us. Most of our backdrops are built in-house one of us focuses on building while the other paints and finishes the designs to bring the vision to life.
Another thing that makes our work special is our floral arrangements. Every floral piece is custom-created specifically for each event. We carefully place and arrange every flower ourselves to make sure each design feels unique and personalized for our clients.
What many people also may not see is that almost all of the preparation leading up to an event is done entirely by just the two of us, Yuris & Esmeralda. From planning, designing, building, painting, prepping florals, organizing inventory, and loading everything for events it is all handled by us before event day. We may have extra help during installations, but the creative process and preparation behind every event is truly built by the two of us from start to finish.
