We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jason Gibson. Check out our conversation below.
Jason, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
To me, integrity means everything. It’s the foundation of trust, accountability, and authenticity. Without integrity, intelligence and energy can be misdirected or even destructive.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jason Gibson, the founder and creative director of Jay-Renee Photography, a Dallas-based photography brand known for capturing authentic moments across commercial property, lifestyle, event, wedding, portrait, and street photography. Since launching Jay-Renee Photography in 2011, I’ve blended my love of lines, patterns, and light with a commitment to storytelling through images that feel both cinematic and timeless.
My approach is rooted in creating imagery that reflects real life—whether it’s the energy of a corporate lifestyle shoot, the joy of a wedding day, or the quiet authenticity of a personal portrait. What sets Jay-Renee Photography apart is not just technical skill, but an ability to make clients feel at ease, allowing genuine moments to unfold organically.
Before photography became my full-time pursuit, I worked in IT and technology, which has given me a unique edge in leveraging tools, workflows, and creative processes to elevate the client experience. That combination of technical know-how and creative vision helps me deliver thoughtful, high-quality work that stands out in a crowded visual landscape.
Today, I’m continually inspired by the stories my clients trust me to tell and remain focused on expanding the reach of Jay-Renee Photography while staying true to the purposeful, emotion-driven style that defines the brand.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My amazing mother. She was such a hard worker, high integrity person. She touched so many people’s lives.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering and failure, through trial and error, have shaped my passion for enduring and have imparted invaluable life lessons.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Assuming that intelligence is a sufficient reason to cease learning and evolution.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Honestly nothing that I can think of at all. Everything I do today is for a better tomorrow.
