Krystel Petite of Dallas/Farmers Branch on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Krystel Petite shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Krystel , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am being called to show up as my most authentic self, and for a long time that felt nerve-wracking. Maybe it was the fear of being judged, or how easy it is to shrink when people try to fit you into their own boxes. But a new season has arrived, one that invites a different way of thinking and asks me to rise.

The real me is empathetic, powerful, understanding, creative, and innovative. She’s ready to bring a new vision to life. For years, I wrestled with imposter syndrome, that quiet voice that creeps in and makes you question your worth and your timing. But not anymore.

I’m choosing to trust my journey. My years in the beauty industry have taught me so much—not just about business, but about myself, resilience, and the beauty in transformation. I’m stepping into a new lane now, ready to merge everything I’ve learned with everything I’m becoming.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Krystel Petite, and I’m the founder of Penthouse Beauté Studio, currently rebranding into Penthouse Skin Lab. I’m a licensed esthetician and phlebotomist who believes that beauty and wellness are deeply connected. My work bridges the art of esthetics with the science of diagnostics, helping clients uncover the “why” behind their skin concerns so they can heal from within.

What makes my brand special is how personal it is—it’s built from real experiences, real growth, and the desire to change how people view skincare and self-care. At Penthouse Beauté, I started by helping clients feel confident in their skin through hair removal and education. Now, through this rebrand, I’m expanding that vision into a space that blends luxury skincare with functional wellness testing, helping people better understand their bodies, hormones, and skin on a deeper level.

This next chapter is about transformation, both for me and my clients. It’s about creating a safe, elevated environment where science meets self-care, and where beauty becomes something more than skin-deep.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Fear is a debilitating feeling, like being caught in limbo. For me, the fear of failing has always haunted me, especially as an entrepreneur. I knew this journey wouldn’t be easy, but I never realized how much it would require a complete overhaul of my mindset.

Sometimes I get caught in the middle of all the choices I have to make, and I guess it’s the overthinker in me mixed with a little bit of the people-pleaser that runs through every possible scenario. Then that heart-squeezing feeling hits: what if I make the wrong choice?

Most people can brush it off, but when entrepreneurship is your livelihood, that fear hits differently. It puts pressure on your mind, heart, and body in ways that most don’t understand. It takes a lot of unlearning and relearning to overcome that kind of fear. It doesn’t completely disappear; sometimes it lingers in the background like a little monster hiding in the dark corner.

But when you finally gather the courage to push past it, when you feel what your own version of success looks like, that’s a feeling you never want to escape.

I’ve started doing the inner work and learning to bet on myself. I remind myself, “If I let fear hold me back and I’m still standing in the same spot, what have I gained? What opportunities have I missed?” That thought alone helps me shake the fear.

Because fear will not be the monster that takes me down.

That fear of failure once kept me careful and grounded, but it has served its purpose. It taught me how to prepare, how to stay alert, and how deeply I care about my purpose. But now, I release it. I no longer need fear to guide me

I choose faith, trust, and courage to lead me forward.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering is harsh, and sometimes we question if it’s even necessary. But through my journey of entrepreneurship, I’ve realized it was a chapter I definitely needed. It taught me patience, humility, and discipline which, honestly, is still a work in progress lol.

When I was in the thick of struggle, I learned who I was without the titles, achievements, or validation. I learned how to sit with my own thoughts, how to rebuild after disappointment, and how to create peace where there was once chaos. Suffering stripped away the illusion of control and taught me to trust timing, to trust myself, and to trust that even in the hardest moments, purpose is being shaped.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The beauty industry often tells the lie that perfection is the goal. With society shifting toward social media and now AI, we’ve created an image that beauty must be polished, that it has no texture, no flaws, and that the light it holds must be artificially created. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

What I’ve learned in this industry is that beauty is raw, real, and unapologetic. Many of my clients come to me wanting glass skin, no blemishes, or to remove every trace of hair to feel accepted by someone else. My mission is to help them see that perfection is an illusion. The true glow comes from healing—healing your skin, your body, and your confidence with intention.

At Penthouse Skin Lab, my goal isn’t just to clear your skin. It’s to help you reconnect with it. To remind you that your skin isn’t something to fix, it’s something to understand. When we stop chasing trends and start focusing on alignment, education, and authenticity, that’s when the transformation truly begins from the inside out.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Like many, I’m slowly realizing my purpose. I’ve come to understand that my purpose involves helping others. The struggles I’ve faced and the heights I’ve climbed were never just for me they were meant to give me the ability to relate, to connect, and to be a source of light for others in their own moments of need.

I truly believe I’m on the path to doing what I was born to do. My work in the beauty industry, and now branching into the medical field, continues to teach me the humility of being human. People deserve to be seen beyond their exterior, to be cared for in a way that reaches deeper than skin. And if I can do that in the midst of making people feel beautiful, then I know I’m doing a damn good job.
