Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Brandy martin of Joshua, Tx

Brandy martin shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Brandy, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
A recent moment that made me feel proud was realizing how much I’ve grown in my ability to juggle multiple responsibilities without losing sight of my purpose. I’ve been hosting events I truly care about, supporting my family and prioritizing my own wellness at the same time. There was a moment where I paused, looked at how far I’ve come compared to a year ago, and smiled, because the progress wasn’t just visible in results, but in my confidence, discipline, actions and mindset. That balance and growth is something I’m really proud of.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I run a small homestead called Wings of Change Homestead. It grew out of my own desire to slow down, live more intentionally, and create healthier more connected way of life. What began as a personal journey has naturally evolved into a space where families, children, and adults can reconnect with the land, learn practical life skills, and experience the joy of growing and creating things from scratch.

Our homestead is home to my animals, garden and on going hands on projects that blend gardening, animal care, natural living and holistic wellness. We welcome the community in through educational experiences, workshops, field trips, and gathering that focus on learning by planting seeds, caring for animals, making natural products and taking time to simply me present without electronics.

What makes my homestead special is that it’s built from real life, real learning and real growth. It not just about homesteading, its about healing, empowerment, and sharing knowledge that can be passed down for generations. Im leaving a legacy for my kids in ways deeper than materials.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom taught me the most about work hands down. Watching her show up consistently and handle responsibilities as a single mother showed me that you can do anything you put your mind too. Hard work builds character and her dedication, resilience and pride in what she did molded me into the woman I am today.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would say you are enough!

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, I am who I am, and I don’t change myself to fit in. What people see publicly is rooted in the same values, honest and intention I live by every day. Im not perfect but Im me, and either love me for who I am or remove yourself.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as a hard core 49er fan lol but on a serious note . I hope they remember my love for others, my heart, and the fact that no matter how hard things got, I never gave up. I want them to remember how I poured into my family and prided myself in being the best mom I could be.I want my story to reflect that I fought hard through every season and continued to show up with the strength, heart, and purpose.
