Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Phiana Scott of Frisco

Phiana Scott shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Phiana , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, I find so much joy in watching my children grow in the activities they’re passionate about. Seeing them celebrate wins, navigate challenges, and learn how to correct mistakes with confidence and resilience truly warms my heart. Being present for those moments, where growth, effort, and self-belief meet reminds me what matters most and fills me with joy.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Phiana, the founder of momMY TIMΞ candlΞ co., a wellness brand born from my personal NICU journey. During a season when rest felt out of reach, I began craving small, intentional moments that felt grounding. That desire became the foundation of my brand.

momMY TIMΞ candlΞ co. is dedicated to encouraging mothers to prioritize self-care, not as a luxury, but as a necessity. Our eco-friendly candles and body care products are designed to create an uplifting, stress-free environment, allowing women to reinvent their self-care journey with each scent selection. Every collection is inspired by the emotional rhythms of motherhood and rooted in the belief that every mother deserves MY TIME to rest, reflect, and rejuvenate.

Giving back is central to who we are. Through our quarterly give-back program, we donate a portion of our proceeds to charities that support women in need and provide self-care kits to mothers navigating difficult circumstances. Ethical and intentional shopping also matters deeply to us, which is why all of our products are thoughtfully sourced to be safe, vegan, and cruelty-free. Right now, I’m focused on expanding our impact while continuing to create meaningful moments of care for women who pour so much into others.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks bonds between people, I’ve found, is when trust and emotional safety are shaken. In motherhood, in family, in life, we see it slowly lost. When we feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood, our walls quietly go up, even with the people we love most. Restoring those bonds takes presence, empathy, and vulnerability. It’s showing up consistently, listening without judgment, and choosing to meet one another where we truly are. Over time, those acts rebuild trust and connection, reminding us that relationships aren’t perfect. They’re simply nurtured by commitment, understanding, and grace.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me how to grow and keep going, even when times are tough. It has shown me how to be resourceful and using what I have, creatively and intentionally, to produce results. It has taught me to pay attention to my mistakes and course-correct so I can be better next time. Suffering has also deepened my appreciation for those who stand by me during difficult seasons, reminding me that relationships and support are just as valuable as any achievement. These lessons along with resilience, self-awareness and gratitude are things success alone could never teach, and they continue to shape how I navigate life and show up for others.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me is family and being present for the people I love. They know I care deeply about showing up with intention, nurturing meaningful relationships, and creating space for care and connection. They’d also say I value purpose and alignment. Making sure my actions, work, and daily choices reflect what I believe truly matters, both as a mother and as a woman trying to leave a positive impact in the world.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me is that I lived with intention and care. That I loved my family deeply, showed up faithfully for the people in my life, and created spaces where others felt seen, supported, and valued. I hope they say I led with empathy, turned pain into purpose, and used what I was given to serve something bigger than myself. Most of all, I hope they remember that I encouraged others, especially mothers to rest, to care for themselves without guilt, and to believe that their presence mattered just as much as their productivity.
