Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Valeria Valderas BSN, RN of Plano

Valeria Valderas BSN, RN shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Valeria, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think what’s most misunderstood about my business and aesthetic medicine as a whole is that it’s about changing people. In reality, my work is about listening and thinking long term.
Aesthetic injections are often viewed as quick fixes or trend driven treatments, but when done thoughtfully, they require a deep understanding of anatomy, aging, lifestyle, and individual goals. Every face is different, and there is no one size fits all approach.
Being both a nurse and a mother has deeply shaped how I practice. I naturally think in terms of longevity, safety, and outcomes over time. Just as I am intentional about the choices I make for my children’s health, I am equally intentional with my patients. Sometimes that means slowing things down, saying no, or creating a plan that prioritizes skin health and balance rather than immediate gratification.
At its best, aesthetics is not about perfection. It is about trust. It is about helping people feel confident, informed, and supported not just today, but for years to come. That responsibility is something I take very seriously.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Valeria Valderas, a registered nurse and aesthetic injector based in North Texas. I specialize in natural-looking, tailored treatments with a strong focus on facial balancing, long-term skin health, and understanding how the face evolves with age and lifestyle. My goal is always to enhance rather than alter.
I practice at Metamorph Medspa, where my values closely align with the practice’s vision of elevated, patient-centered care. We prioritize thoughtful treatment planning, education, and outcomes that support confidence over time rather than quick fixes or trends. That alignment allows me to care for patients in a way that feels intentional and ethical.
My nursing background shapes how I approach aesthetics. Treatments are collaborative, grounded in anatomy and science, and tailored to the individual. Education is a huge part of my practice. I want patients to feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their decisions every step of the way.
I’m also a mother, which naturally gives me a long-term mindset when it comes to wellness and care. I approach my patients with the same thoughtfulness, responsibility, and focus on longevity. At the core of my work is a balance between medicine and artistry, with restraint, intention, and trust guiding every treatment.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Both of my parents have taught me the most about work, and they continue to do so to this day. They lead by example and consistently show up with integrity, humility, and an incredible work ethic—both professionally and in how they serve others.

They’ve always viewed the ability to work as a privilege rather than a burden, and that perspective shaped me early on. Because of that, I genuinely enjoy working and find purpose in what I do. What I do today doesn’t feel like work in the traditional sense—it’s meaningful, service-driven, and constantly evolving. That love for growth and contribution is something my parents modeled long before I understood its impact.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me patience, discernment, and the importance of boundaries in a way success never could. Success can validate you, but hardship teaches you who you are when validation disappears.
There were seasons of my life that required me to slow down, reassess, and rebuild with intention. In those moments, I learned the value of resilience, self-trust, and choosing what truly aligns with my values rather than what looks good from the outside.
That perspective deeply influences how I practice today. It’s made me more empathetic, more present, and more intentional in how I care for others. I understand that real growth, whether personal or professional, rarely happens in comfort. It happens when you’re willing to learn, adapt, and keep moving forward with integrity.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that integrity, honesty, and ethics truly matter to me across every role I hold. I believe honesty is always the best approach, especially when it comes from a place of understanding rather than judgment.
I try to remain humble and treat others the way I want to be treated. You never really know what someone else is carrying or the full story behind their choices, and that perspective shapes how I communicate and care for people. Whether I’m working with patients, colleagues, friends, or my children, I value transparency, empathy, and trust.
I also strive to be a positive role model in all areas of my life. Leading by example, doing the right thing even when it’s not the easiest option, and showing respect for others are values I take seriously and try to live by every day.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me is that I made them feel genuinely cared for. That in moments where they felt unsure or vulnerable, I took the time to slow down, listen, and help them feel confident in their choices.
I hope patients remember that I cared about more than results. That I valued their long-term skin health, wellness, and overall confidence, and helped them understand how their face changes with age and life. Education was always important to me, not just so people looked good, but so they felt informed and empowered.
I also hope I’m remembered as someone who built something meaningful with intention and heart. Someone who proved that you can practice aesthetic medicine thoughtfully and ethically, while still creating beautiful results. And above all, I hope my children and those closest to me remember that I led with love, purpose, and example. That, to me, is the legacy that matters.
