Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Cincopulos.
Hi Chelsea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Tell us your story?
Four simple words holding the weight of someone’s entire ocean.
The circling question of at what end should I begin, to truly unravel the story that is mine. Once upon a time I would speak on the tragedy, the parts of my life that were so primitive there was no living only surviving. I won’t deep dive into the past, but when I say my childhood wasn’t rainbows and butterflies it travels far beyond saying I grew up in a broken home. It hangs its’ hat by the door of never meeting my father but knowing he was a murderer. It rides the coattails of holding my mother’s hand in the hospital after she tried to unalive herself when I was only 16 years old. I say this only to set the tone, for you to truly grasp the miracle after miracle I have proved myself to become no matter what life has asked me to endure as it carried me along.
My mission and business, Scared Spaces Healing never began as me setting out to heal the world, but to save myself. Where I feel the story of my light beginning unfortunately came from the darkest place I’ve ever had to survive. The passing of my dear grandparents only 4 months apart from each other, that was the turning point that changed the course of everything. That is when I set out on a path of many journeys that led me to discover tremendous healing. From studies focused on well-known psychiatrist Carl Jung, to walking mystical geological points referred to as healing vortexes in Sedona, to foreign expeditions seeking plant medicine ceremonies and the most profound my weeklong dark retreat at the Hermitage in Guatemala. Where I willing gave up my sight and sat submerged in complete darkness for a week.
Sometimes the path was a walk in the park others felt like I was on the break of literal dismemberment but nevertheless I refused to give up. I was determined to do more than just stay alive but to begin to live my life to its fullest potential. Although I took a few less than favorable things away from my 7 years in the military I believe there were some good aspects I left with that have played a key role in helping me truly flourish within my spiritual bounds like discipline and unwavering commitment. It takes real courage to step into the unknown, to go against the grain, to rewire deep conditioning of years’ worth of compacted traumatic experiences.
I will never forget the last time I sat face to face with my psychiatrist listening to her tell me I would more than likely need to remain on 6 plus medications for the rest of my life, covering everything from severe anxiety with panic attacks, ptsd, insomnia, depression and mood disorders. Back then at the age of just 26 I had sat in front of more than 5 clinically trained mental health professionals to tell my story. Each time they all ended up saying the same thing “Wow you carry yourself so well for having been through all that, I would’ve never have guessed after meeting you that was your story.” Each time it was real, I could see it in their faces the pure astonishment that I was sitting and simply breathing in front of them.
Fast forward some years after I had sought out training and apprenticeships in holistic healing modalities ranging from reiki, frequencies to shamanic healing pathways I was sharing completely different stories but still seeing the same astonishment about them on new faces and in a new light. I began to not speak heavily on what I endured but focused on the power I uncovered within myself to outshine all of that. The more I attended other practitioners’ sessions and classes the deeper connections with so many others began to form. The push to not just attended but to be the one holding space could no longer be set aside, so I began. My gifts of helping others uncover their own power and my connections with spirit began to take on whole new meanings and reach unbelievable heights as I forged ways forward with Sacred Spaces Healing. I began seeing foundations form one on ones unfolding into larger and larger sessions every step of the way. Collaborations began to grow like wildflowers branching with studios, other facilitators and practitioners all over Dallas and East Texas.
Which brings us to today as I am also a managing partner for Se7en Waves Sound Vibes, East Texas branch facilitating luxury floating sound bath experiences as well.
My passion to support all pathways of healing continues to remain focused on being the helping hand, the vessel that allows individuals to walk their journey while discovering their own inner power. I take no credit in the lives that begin to shift as I only walk alongside them on their path to peace. I am the hand they can reach for and the tree they can lean against for rest along the way. The power will always be found within you.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road but one worth the travel!!
– traumatic childhood barely and briefly discussed previously
– personal mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, ptsd and mood disorders
-divorced, single mother transitioning from 7 yrs in the Airforce back to civilian life
I was a weapons armament tech (I loaded missiles & bombs on planes)
– leaving religion from being raised Southern Baptist to spiritual path
– self discovery of visions and shamanic journeys
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a holistic healing practitioner I own Sacred Spaces Healing. I hold space and facilitate sound bath sessions, limpia spiritual cleansings, 1×1 shamanic journey sessions and power animal retrievals.
I have also self-published a poetry book known as One Way Calls, it was a healing avenue I used to help me with the loss of my grandparents. I am also working on a manuscript for another poetry book that will be dedicated to my son. I am writing it as if I have passed and it will be a life advice-based book.
I do not look at what sets me apart from others, but what aligns myself within them. My goal of self is not to seek credentials or experiences that set me on any pedestal of ego and although that may sound pretentious in itself, I simply focus on balance I seek to remain within a grounded state of being. I’m raw and rich in what you get is what you see.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love really the diversity that has begun to stretch its roots in Dallas and East Texas. We all know that Texas and religion go hand in hand, but new opportunities to openly discussion to different avenues of healing ourselves is forming and that to me is truly inspiring.
It is still difficult at times to shake off the negative and abrasive comments I can get from social post or advertising content in the small-town pages. It can be disheartening in some instances however I continue to walk with the path in love and no fear.
