Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrisshele Griffin.

Hi Chrisshele, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Chrisshele “MsChriss” Griffin, the founder of MsChriss BAKES! What started in 2021 as a passion for baking has grown into a brand that’s all about creating memorable dessert experiences. Baking has always been my thing, but I decided to take it seriously when I realized I wasn’t just making desserts, I was creating moments. The kind that remind you of home, family gatherings and those “just one more bite” memories you don’t forget!!

While building MsChriss BAKES, I’ve also maintained a full-time career in higher education, so this journey has required faith, discipline and a whole lot of late nights. I started showing up at farmers markets and pop-up events across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and over time, I built a loyal customer base, experienced consistent sell-outs and gained recognition not just for my flavors, but for my presentation and attention to detail.

Now, I’m stepping fully into my CEO era. I’m refining my brand, focusing on my signature gourmet brownies and madeleines, and expanding into corporate gifting and larger-scale opportunities. With a growing presence and a clear vision for expansion, MsChriss BAKES is evolving into something much bigger than I imagined when I first started. At the end of the day, I don’t just sell desserts, I create experiences that feel good, look good and leave a lasting impression!!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been a meaningful one; and I’ve learned that growth rarely is smooth. Balancing a full-time career while building MsChriss BAKES has stretched me in ways I didn’t expect, it requires discipline and the ability to keep going even when you’re exhausted. There have been long nights, early mornings and moments where I questioned if I was doing enough or moving fast enough.

One of the biggest challenges has been navigating in-person markets. It can be discouraging when people compliment your products and presentation but walk away without making a purchase; it’s tough when you’ve put so much time, energy and heart into your work. But I’ve learned not to take those moments personally and instead use them as motivation to refine my strategy and better understand my customer. I know that visibility, connection and consistency all play a role, and not every interaction is meant to result in an immediate sale.

I’ve also had to adapt quickly when things didn’t go as planned, like unexpected weather or shifts in customer traffic. But those experiences have strengthened me and helped me approach my business with more intention. Every challenge has pushed me to become more resilient and more confident in my business. So, no, it hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been worth every lesson. Every obstacle has helped shape me into the CEO I’m becoming!!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At MsChriss BAKES, I specialize in gourmet brownies and madeleines that are designed to do more than satisfy a sweet tooth, they create an experience!! My brand is rooted in nostalgia, so many of my flavors are inspired by the comforting desserts you grew up loving, but elevated in a way that feels both familiar and indulgent. I’m known for my presentation just as much as my flavors. Everything is individually packaged, clean and visually appealing; you can see exactly what you’re getting. That attention to detail has helped me stand out at markets and events, where people are often drawn in before they even take their first bite.

What I’m most proud of is the consistency I’ve built. From selling out at markets to having repeat customers who seek me out; it’s shown me that people not only enjoy my products, but they remember them. That kind of connection means everything to me.

What sets me apart is the combination of quality, presentation and intention. I’m not just baking, I’m creating desserts that people feel good about purchasing, gifting and sharing. Whether it’s a quick treat for yourself or something you bring to a gathering, I want every item to feel like it was worth it!!

What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is creating something that brings joy to other people. There’s nothing like seeing someone light up after trying one of my desserts or hearing that it reminded them of a memory, a loved one or a special moment in their life. I also find a lot of happiness in the process; being in the kitchen, fully in my element, creating, refining and seeing an idea come to life. It’s one of the few places where everything feels aligned for me.

And honestly, I’m happy knowing that I didn’t ignore what God placed on my heart. Building MsChriss BAKES hasn’t been easy, but choosing to pursue something that brings me fulfillment, freedom and purpose, that’s what makes it all worth it. I’m happiest knowing I’m building something that’s mine; something that can grow, impact others and create opportunities beyond what I originally imagined!!
