Life & Work with D’aron Hill of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to D’aron Hill.

Hi D’aron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Before launching Blaq Pearl Beats, my background was rooted in discipline and strategy. I competed in college football, got my BA degree in Management with a concentration in operations and logistics, and worked in corporate financial services as a fully licensed Financial Advisor. While the corporate world sharpened my business acumen, my heart belonged to music and currently the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) scene. I noticed a massive gap: so many brilliant independent artists have world-class talent but lack the back-end business infrastructure to scale. I wanted to build a management brand that combined high-level operations with genuine artist advocacy.

But every business needs a defining catalyst. For Blaq Pearl Beats, that moment came through a conversation at a club event with a talented artist named Holden right after he had attended the Ubbi Dubbi music festival:

Holden: “Yo I was at UBBI I think I can do this DJ thing. You think I can?”

Me: “You know how to DJ? Hell yeah! I’ll help!”

Holden: “I want to play at UBBI! let’s run it up!”

Me: “BET.”

From that single conversation, Holden’s artist brand and Blaq Pearl Beats grew up side-by-side. I poured everything I knew about logistics, networking, and strategy into building his career from the ground up—developing press kits, securing venue slots, and managing media relations. It was a mutual hustle: as I scaled Holden’s career, I was simultaneously establishing the reputation and operational blueprint of Blaq Pearl Beats.

Exactly one year after that text message, Holden wasn’t just standing in the crowd at Ubbi Dubbi—he was on the lineup performing.

Standing on the ground managing his artist relations at the very festival that inspired the journey was the ultimate validation. It proved that a single conversation, backed by absolute belief, diligence, and relentless execution, can manifest any goal.

Today, Blaq Pearl Beats is in a major phase of growth. We are currently transitioning the entity into an official LLC, expanding our venue networks, and prioritizing the hire of a booking agent to scale our roster. We started with a simple promise to “run it up,” and now we’re building a lasting legacy.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but smooth roads don’t build character, and they certainly don’t prepare you for the music industry. The biggest hurdle early on was breaking through the gatekeeping. Coming from corporate finance, I had the business frameworks down, but the music scene runs entirely on trust and relationships. Walking into venues or pitching festival programmers meant constantly proving that Blaq Pearl Beats wasn’t just a passing hobby, but a serious professional powerhouse. I had to learn how to translate corporate strategy into the fast-paced, high-energy language of nightlife and festival production, all while wearing every single hat, from CEO and legal compliance to travel coordinator and graphic designer.

Beyond the logistics, the real challenge was carrying the emotional weight of artist advocacy. In finance, you manage numbers; in management, you are protecting someone’s dreams and livelihood. When a venue contract gets delayed or a negotiation falls through, you feel it deeply. Balancing that intense pressure while staying agile and keeping the business architecture afloat was a true test of mental endurance. But every roadblock just refined our blueprint. It’s exactly why we’ve stress-tested this foundation and are ready to scale it even further.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At its core, my work as a creative executive is about building the infrastructure that turns raw artistic talent into a sustainable, scalable powerhouse. Through Blaq Pearl Beats, I specialize in artist management, strategic venue networking, and high-level event production within the EDM scene. What sets me apart is this unique hybrid DNA. I don’t just understand the rhythm of the music; I understand the mathematics of the business. Coming from a background in operations, logistics, and corporate financial planning, I approach the industry with a blueprint mindset. While many independent managers operate on intuition alone, I inject structure, risk mitigation, and systemic scalability into a traditionally chaotic game, handling everything from designing marketing flyers to managing high-stakes relations on the ground at major festivals.

The achievement I am most proud of is building a foundation where a simple conversation and a promise to “run it up” could manifest as a slot on a major festival lineup just one year later. Watching Holden perform at Ubbi Dubbi and knowing every piece of the operational puzzle we built side-by-side held perfectly under pressure is the ultimate validation of what we do. It proved that with absolute belief, absolute diligence, and the right operational backing, independent artists can break through any ceiling. To see the vision in action, catch behind-the-scenes clips, and follow our journey, you can check out a lot of my work on our Instagram page @BlaqPearlBeats.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If there’s one final thing I want to leave with your readers, it’s that Blaq Pearl Beats is just getting started. Right now, we are in a massive phase of transition and growth. We are actively formalizing the entertainment branch into an official LLC, expanding our venue networks across major regions, and producing game-changing event concepts. Like a recent 24-hour DJ marathon proposal featuring two dozen performers. To handle this explosive momentum, our immediate priority is bringing on a dedicated booking agent to help scale our roster and expand our footprint even further.

Ultimately, this brand is a movement built on the power of collaboration, execution, and genuine support. My journey with Holden proved that when you combine undeniable talent with the right operational blueprint, the sky is the limit. Whether you are an artist looking for the right infrastructure to scale, a venue looking for high-level event production, or a fan who loves the music, I invite you to lock in with us. Run it up with us and follow the evolution of the brand on Instagram @BlaqPearlBeats. The best is absolutely yet to come.
