Today we’d like to introduce you to Heath Coleman.

Hi Heath , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am originally from Morrison, Oklahoma, a small town located north of Stillwater, Oklahoma. I grew up in a farming and ranching family where I learned an appreciation for hard work. I was always involved in many activities such as football, baseball, basketball, hunting, and fishing during high school. I attended Oklahoma State University for my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from 2003-2007 and Northeastern State University for my Doctorate of Optometry from 2007-2011. After school I moved to Denton, Texas and began practicing at Total Eyecare as an associate and later became an owner in the Crossroads location. In 2020 the practices were sold and I worked for corporate practice for 3 years. After 13 years of practice in Denton and Crossroads, me and my business partner Jenifer Nguyen, OD, decided to open a private practice (Elevate Eyecare of Frisco) in my home town of Frisco, TX. I’ve been married to my amazing wife for 7 years, Lisa Coleman who is a PR and Communications Specialist for Energy Transfer, and we have a 2.5 yo daughter Kennedy who is our pride and joy. I enjoy spending time with my family, bass fishing, golfing, bowhunting, and attending sporting events. We are also members of Gateway Church and attend the Frisco Campus.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I always thought that I would end up being the owner of both practice locations in Denton and Crossroads but after 10 years in the same practice things changed very quickly and I realized that it wasn’t going to happen. Life also threw a few curveballs with my daughter being born with a congenital heart defect that required open heart surgery at five months old, and during that time the road was bumpy for a while but she is the toughest little girl I know. The new practice has been a lot of work but with the help of my awesome business partner Jenifer Nguyen OD, it has been a smooth process and we are creating an environment for compassionate, expert eyecare in the North Texas community.

Elevate Eyecare of Frisco is owned by Heath Coleman, OD and Jenifer Nguyen OD. We opened in August of 2024 and offer compassionate, expert eyecare to the North Texas community….”community driven style inspired”. The office isn’t just about building a business but it is about creating a space where patients can get trusted eye care, kids can see the world through their first pair of glasses, the elderly can protect their sight, and the community knows that their health is our top priority. We’ve invested in the latest technology of diagnostic eye care equipment and offer the highest quality of ophthalmic materials to our patients. We offer personalized service to create a warm and welcoming environment where every patient knows that their vision and ocular health truly matters. We have a great team that offers years of eyecare experience and our services include routine vision and medical exams including diabetic, glaucoma, and dry eye exams, custom contact lens fittings which include soft, gas perm, scleral, and ortho k lenses, myopia management, and full optical services.

What matters most to you?
The thing that matters most to me is people. I want to be able to serve my patients and be involved in the community. I want our patients to know that they are valued and feel like one of the family when they come to see us.
