Today we’d like to introduce you to Jannely Alvarado
Hi Jannely, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My passion for photography began when I was a teenager, and it’s a love that has only grown deeper throughout the years. It all started when I would travel to Mexico with my family. I was mesmerized by the mountains and the vastness of nature. I found myself constantly reaching for my camera, to capture the raw beauty of God’s creation. Those trips left a lasting impression, and I learned to value the stillness of life through the lens of my camera.
As the years went on, I continued to experiment with photography, expanding my creative horizons. I started taking photos of my friends and even self-portraits, playing with lighting, angles, and composition. There were many late nights spent locked away in my room, hours upon hours of letting my imagination flow freely. It was in those quiet moments that I learned to push the boundaries of my craft, constantly seeking to improve my skills.
Photography became my sanctuary, a way for me to express myself and explore the world around me. What began as a simple hobby soon turned into a heart felt pursuit. I knew I was meant to continue down this creative path.
Today, my focus has evolved, and I’m deeply passionate about fashion, portrait, and ministry photography. I love capturing the essence of a person or a moment, whether it’s the intricate details of a fashion shoot or the genuine emotion in a portrait. Ministry photography, in particular, has become a special area of focus for me, as it allows me to document meaningful moments and create powerful images that tell a story of faith, divine connection, and love.
I truly believe that photography is my God-given gift and looking back I see God’s hand all over it from the start. My ultimate goal is to create and bring glory to Jesus Christ. Each photo I take is not just a moment captured, but a chance to honor Him. It’s my way of worship.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout my photography journey, I’ve faced some obstacles —two of the biggest being comparison and the feeling that I’m not where I want to be just yet. It’s easy to look at others and feel like I’m falling short, but I’ve learned that these feelings are part of the process. It’s hard not to want to be further along, but I trust that God’s timing is perfect. He has a plan for me, and though it might not be on my timeline, I know He is guiding me every step of the way. In those moments of doubt, I remind myself of Philippians 4:13, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ With God’s strength, I can push through these obstacles, continue to grow, and trust that in His perfect timing, I’ll be where I need to be.

I’m a Dallas-based photographer specializing in fashion, portrait, and ministry photography. I’m determined to make my clients feel at ease, and exceed their expectations by making their vision come to life. We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I find true fulfillment and success in doing what I love, but what makes it even more meaningful is that I do it in partnership with Christ. For me, success isn’t just about achieving personal goals or recognition; it’s about using my gifts and passions to honor Him and contribute to His work in the world. Every step I take, whether in my work or personal life, is an opportunity to live out my faith and make a difference in His name. It’s not about the end result, but about aligning my heart and actions with His purpose. When I am doing something I love, and I know it brings glory to God, that is the truest form of success to me.
