Life & Work with Kristene Newton of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristene Newton.

Hi Kristene, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! I’m Kristene aka The Tiny Home Designer! I use to be a top producing realtor with my husband in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, but the past few years we partnered with one of our friends and started Liberty Tiny Homes and Village! A luxury dealership that designs and customizes 399sf tiny home park models and ships them nationwide! The past 2 years I have gone viral multiple multiple times for how we design and decorate our tiny homes! We make them feel luxury but for less in this crazy high economy we are in right now!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing worth having is easy. I will say starting a tiny home dealership and village has pushed me and our partners and owners to the extreme. When we first started out we had no one to guide us so we had to forge our own path. I work with about 4 manufacturers and one of our builder reps made the comment, yea this business is hard and it’s a dog eat dog. All you top dealers are all in the same pond. And I quickly said, I don’t want to be in the same pond as everyone else – I want to be in our own pond. We do things different and sometimes that makes even more of a struggle because you are always battling if you are doing the right thing. But when we get calls and emails and people walking in who have found us on social media- they said this is the best we have seen, ever! So it makes us breathe a little easier after a hard days work trying to bring the best in customer relations and service.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do a lot for the brand Liberty Tiny Homes, but I think what I’m most surprised in myself is creating something and seeing the masses of people receive it in a way I didn’t think possible!! To get millions and millions of views across Facebook, and TikTok and Instagram and those people flood into the office and to get hundreds and hundreds of calls and emails each week – it’s been insane. I never knew what going viral meant until experiencing it, but I think people are catching on that you can create a luxury brand for less and give people a way to retire earlier or slow down their pace of hard work to get into a tiny home and still have something nice to come home to. My husband got sick a few years ago and we almost lost him- my whole world changed and what I once thought was important, was no longer important to me anymore. Living a life that didn’t require so much stress and hardship was more important / and I want to create that in the tiny home communities nationwide. Do you really need to pay $3000-$4000 a month in a mortgage to live in that big house? Or do you want a cute little house and travel more and work less for? Do you want to work til you are 70? Or can you live on less? I want to create a space for people who if they are willing to sell their big homes for, they will love. That’s the ‘tiny home designer’ in me!

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
