Today we’d like to introduce you to LaKaila Rene.
Hi LaKaila, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi, my name is La’Kaila Rene Childs, also known as LaKailaRene, and I am a model, creator, and visionary who is passionate about inspiring others through authenticity, creativity, and faith. My journey has not always been easy, but every obstacle has shaped me into who I am today. I truly care about others and love helping people grow, gain confidence, and believe in themselves.
Ever since I was 5 years old, I knew God placed a passion inside of me for modeling, singing, acting, dancing, and being creative. I started off doing a bit of hair modeling and going to auditions, getting accepted into opportunities, but many times my family didn’t have the funds for me to fully pursue what God put me on this earth to do. Even through those setbacks, I never let go of my vision.
As I got older, I realized I was meant to be seen and heard not just for myself, but to inspire and help others grow, gain wisdom, and believe in themselves. I truly believe God gave me this purpose for a reason, and I’ve continued taking steps every day to fully walk into my potential as a model, creator, and entrepreneur.
I never let other people’s opinions stop me because the only opinion that truly matters is God’s. Every experience, the good, the bad, and the ugly, has shaped me into who I am today. I stay grateful through it all because I know every challenge is aligning me with my purpose.
My goal is to become a full-time model and creator with multiple streams of income while continuing to learn, travel, step outside my comfort zone, and inspire people through my journey. More than anything, I want to break cycles, be a positive voice, and become someone others can look up to by simply being myself and walking in faith.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been smooth. At times, financial challenges kept me from fully pursuing my dreams, and I often couldn’t afford the auditions I was accepted into. Without a mentor, I taught myself by practicing from home, applying principles, and putting myself out there. I do still struggle with self-doubt; I get in my own head and overthink, but I know it doesn’t define me. I also sometimes feel like people don’t fully support me until they see the results, but I stay grounded, aligning every step with God’s plan, knowing even the small steps are leading me closer to where I’m meant to be.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a travel model based in Dallas, but I work all over, thriving on creativity, whether I’m on the runway, in brand campaigns, or behind the scenes as a creative director. I’m always pushing myself right now. I’m taking an IBM AI course and a trading class so I can expand my skills and build new income streams. People know me for my bold energy, and I’m especially proud to work with brands like CoverGirl, as well as others, and I’ll be walking in New York Fashion Week this September. In addition, I work with a security firm, hiring guards who meet specific requirements and doing small projects on the side. I’m also excited to share that I have a digital marketing PDF launching soon, and a drop-shipping website called ReneTrends that will be relaunching as well.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a little church girl, and my faith was rooted in Christ. I always had a passion for modeling and creativity, singing, dancing, and helping others. I loved putting a smile on people’s faces by being my authentic self, bubbly, outgoing, and very goofy. I’m both introverted and extroverted. From a young age, I had to grow up faster than I needed to, being around my parents, my grandparents, and facing the trials and tribulations I went through. I can remember back to when I was about four years old, and I don’t see it as a bad thing; in fact, it helped shape me into who I am today, and for that, I’m truly grateful.
