Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Walden.
Hi Lindsay, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I never set out to become a photographer. I actually have a degree in Business Management and spent years working in the nonprofit world. Photography began after my children were born as a creative outlet and a way to preserve the fleeting moments of childhood that seemed to pass far too quickly.
What started as a hobby quickly grew into a passion. I found myself drawn to maternity and newborn photography because these seasons of life are filled with so much beauty, emotion, and anticipation. I loved creating images that felt timeless and meaningful.
Over time, I realized that the experience surrounding the photographs was just as important as the images themselves. I began intentionally building a studio experience that felt elevated, personal, and effortless for busy families. Today, my Colleyville studio offers a full-service luxury experience with professional hair and makeup, an extensive wardrobe for mothers and children, custom session design, and heirloom artwork created to be enjoyed for generations.
I believe photography should be more than simply taking pictures. It should be a chance for mothers to feel beautiful, for families to slow down and be present with one another, and for meaningful moments to be preserved in a way that becomes part of a family’s legacy.
Along the way, I’ve also had the opportunity to mentor and teach other photographers, which has been incredibly rewarding. But at the heart of everything I do is serving families and creating an experience that allows them to feel celebrated, cared for, and truly seen during some of life’s most precious milestones.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most entrepreneurs, it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building a business while raising a family came with its share of challenges. There were seasons of juggling motherhood, learning how to run a business, and figuring out how to continually evolve both creatively and professionally.
One of the biggest lessons I learned was that creating beautiful photographs is only one piece of the puzzle. I had to learn how to build an exceptional client experience and create a business that truly reflected my values. Over the years, I’ve continually refined every aspect of what I do—from the way clients are cared for before they ever step into the studio to the personalized details that make each session feel effortless and meaningful.
The photography industry has also changed tremendously since I began. Technology, trends, and client expectations are constantly evolving, which means I’ve had to remain adaptable and committed to lifelong learning. Rather than seeing those changes as obstacles, I’ve tried to view them as opportunities to continually improve and elevate the experience I offer.
There have certainly been difficult moments and periods of uncertainty along the way, but each challenge has helped shape the business I have today. Looking back, I’m grateful for those experiences because they pushed me to become more intentional, more resilient, and more focused on creating something that is about so much more than photographs. It’s about serving families well and preserving some of the most meaningful moments of their lives.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in luxury maternity, newborn, and baby photography, creating fine art portraits for families throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. My studio in Colleyville is designed to provide a full-service experience that feels effortless and highly personalized. From professional hair and makeup to an extensive wardrobe for mothers and children, custom session design, and heirloom artwork, every detail is thoughtfully curated so families can simply enjoy the experience and be present in the moment.
I think I’m best known for creating images that are both artistic and deeply meaningful. I love blending an editorial, fine art approach with genuine emotion to create portraits that feel timeless. Whether it’s a mother’s anticipation before her baby arrives or the tiny details of a newborn that change in a matter of days, I’m passionate about preserving these fleeting moments in a way that becomes part of a family’s legacy.
What I’m most proud of is the trust families place in me. Many of my clients return year after year, allowing me to document their growing families from maternity to newborn sessions, milestones, and beyond. There is something incredibly special about watching children grow up in front of my camera and knowing that the artwork we create together will be treasured for generations.
I believe what sets me apart is the combination of artistry and experience. Beautiful photographs are important, but I also want every client to feel cared for, celebrated, and genuinely seen. I take the time to get to know each family, understand their personalities and vision, and create something uniquely designed for them. My goal has always been to offer more than a photography session—I want to create an experience and artwork that families will cherish long after these moments have passed.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is seeing my clients see themselves in a new way. There is something incredibly special about hearing a mother say, “I’ve never loved a photograph of myself more.” So many women spend their lives taking care of everyone else and rarely step in front of the camera. To help them feel beautiful, confident, and celebrated during such an important season of life is truly rewarding.
I also love the moment when parents see their newborn images for the very first time. There are often tears, smiles, and an overwhelming sense of gratitude as they realize just how quickly these tiny details will change. Those reactions never get old.
Being a mother is the greatest joy of my own life, and I know firsthand how fleeting these moments are. Babies don’t stay little long. Childhood moves far too quickly. I feel incredibly honored to help families preserve these memories and create artwork that will allow them to relive these precious seasons for years—and hopefully generations—to come.
