Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Cooper.
Hi Lisa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I never set out to become a content creator. Like many women, I spent years focused on raising my family while putting much of my own identity on the back burner. As I approached 50, I found myself entering a new season of life as an empty nester and began asking what was next for me.
What started as a small blog called Evolving50 quickly became a creative outlet to share my experiences with aging, beauty, wellness, fashion, and the challenges many women face as they navigate midlife. I wanted to create the kind of space I wish I had found myself, one that celebrated aging rather than feared it.
Over the years, that passion grew into a thriving social media community of women who are embracing this stage of life with confidence. Today I create content focused on beauty, skincare, wellness, fashion, travel, and healthy aging for women over 50. I’ve had the opportunity to partner with national brands, travel for campaigns, and connect with an incredible community of women who inspire me every day.
My mission has remained the same from the beginning: to show women that aging isn’t about fading into the background. It’s about evolving, continuing to learn, trying new things, and becoming the best version of ourselves at every stage of life. At 57, I truly believe it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, pursue new opportunities, and find joy in the next chapter.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was starting something completely new in my 50s and learning everything from social media and content creation to brand partnerships and running a business.
There have been plenty of disappointments along the way. Missed opportunities, campaigns that didn’t work out, algorithm changes, and moments of self-doubt. Balancing deadlines, family responsibilities, travel, and everyday life can sometimes feel like a juggling act.
But those challenges taught me resilience. Every setback became an opportunity to learn, grow, and adapt. Looking back, I’ve learned that success isn’t about avoiding obstacles it’s about continuing to move forward despite them.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create content focused on beauty, skincare, wellness, fashion, travel, and healthy aging for women over 50.
What I’m most proud of is building a trusted community and securing long-term partnerships with major brands I once only dreamed of working with. Those opportunities came from consistently showing up and earning my audience’s trust.
What sets me apart is the genuine connection I have with my followers. I share real experiences, honest recommendations, and the ups and downs that come with navigating midlife. At 57, I’m still challenging myself, trying new things, and proving it’s never too late to reinvent yourself.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Be prepared to work harder than you think. Social media may look easy from the outside, but building a business takes consistency, patience, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work.
I would also tell anyone starting not to worry so much about what other people think. If I had listened to the doubts, I never would have started. Believe in your value, trust your voice, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.
Most importantly, start before you feel ready. Growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone, and some of the best opportunities in my life came from taking chances that felt a little scary at the time.
