Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Aguilar.

Marcus Aguilar

Marcus, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
ever since I was little, I always felt a need to create. I just didn’t know how to put language to that. fast-forward to late middle school I really got into video and YouTube so I got my first camera. knowing nothing about video editing, and camera settings, I was insanely overwhelmed. but I was determined to learn because I quickly fell in love with the craft. fast-forward to high school I became completely self taught! everything I know is because of YouTube. I started off making Home videos for me and my family and that quickly turn into making videos for friends! once I graduated high school, I moved to Dallas to attend the Bible college there called Christ for the nations Institute. it was there where I truly feel like I blossomed into the creative that I am today. Dallas has completely influenced the way I create today. from helping doing creative for my friends brand all the way to shooting music festivals, the creative culture in Dallas helped me a lot with my drive and vision when it comes to shooting! now I get to travel with pastors and ministries all over and shoot content for them, as well as doing music festivals for big-time Christian artists and big-time Christian worship leaders! never thought i’d be where i am today!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
some obstacles I faced was definitely family. They weren’t so stoked when I wanted to go to Dallas for a Bible college that gives you no actual degree rather than going to a college that I’m almost always Guaranteed job once I graduate. Once they heard, I wanted to do creative things there’s always been this doubt with family upon me. That hasn’t always been easy. Always trying to live to the expectations of family. It definitely was hard. But I knew the Lord had a path that he wanted to write me!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
what my work looks like and what I mainly known for is my video Contant long and short formed content. I also do graphics and video for businesses, churches, and local brands. and I recently jumped in the scene of doing music festivals for Christian artists

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
The risk I took when jumping into the creative scene was not going the usual route of going to college and completely taking a leap of faith and moving my whole life to Dallas to pursue this creative dream
