Life & Work with Nate Mack of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate Mack.

Hi Nate, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Honestly my story starts as a director begins at Concord Baptist church. I worked stage ministry with my mom since she worked all services each Sunday. One day the av ministry needed someone to hold the extra camera because someone was sick. I jumped at the opportunity to use a $15,000 camera. Although my mom complained that if I dropped the camera they adopted and eleven year old that one service created a fire that has grown since. I then learned how to direct church services and short film projects the church would give me. From there I have pushed on to work with celebs like cam newton, Carmelo Anthony, Gunna. Now I’m trying pitch my short film ideas into feature films.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My generation is the generation that watched us go from Nokias and house phones to the iPhone whatever generation we are on today. The hardest thing is keeping up with technology and marketing.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Currently I have been working for a company named overtime traveling to different cities filming high profile players from high school through there sophomore year in the league. This journey has been impactful and enlightening. But I yearn for more to express my feelings, my culture and God’s feelings on screen. I want to share movies to the world to help bring another form of happiness we are missing. That form is visual freedom where it allows your mind to travel to distant lands and come bun back excited about the adventure.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Research and who you know. We all have inspiration but who was your inspiration inspiration. And go make some friends. That doesn’t mean you can’t make a name for yourself without knowing someone. But I haven’t seen a millionaire become a millionaire by themselves even nepo babies receive help.
