Today we’d like to introduce you to Nisha B
Hi Nisha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m Nisha B, Author of Be Gentle With Yourself, a book I self published in 2023 to encourage and inspire women to go after their dreams no matter the circumstances. The book is paired with journals, planner, accessories and more. I also host events, such Vision Board Parties, Galentine’s and more. I did not have experience in hosting events but when I want to do something, I just do it. I want women to have that same mentality. We not waiting on others to support us or give us permission to go after our goals.
My journey as an entrepreneur isn’t your average journey. I’m a single mom to a basketball star, I work multiple jobs on top of being an entrepreneur. I secured a 6-figure income as a remote Licensed Loan Officer but as the market turned, that income disappeared. But my come back is strong, I refused to have an income less than what I was used to, and that’s when I tapped into digital marketing.
Most recently, I pivoted to coaching. I am now a Confidence and Online Business coach. Through my digital resources, I am teaching women to have multiple sources of income online. I offer courses, guides, private and group coaching. Also encouraging women to find their WHY. Not just have a money or a business goal, but WHY do you want that goal. Helping women discover what they want deep down inside through journal prompts I post here and there.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Struggles along the way definitely included losing my really good income and having to build back up.
I explored many options, including roofing sales. YES! I was climbing on roofs as a woman trying to make a decent living for my son and I .
As a single mom to a young boy it was hard to make events sometimes, such as networking outings and such, but as he gets older, it is getting easier for me to attend events that can contribute to my business. The lesson in that is just realize that it may not be the season to go out all around the city promoting business right now. There is a time to focus on family and there is time to focus on business. and now that he’s older, I can take him on my adventures.
Struggles- I am a young homeowner and I am always having to use a lot of my extra money to fix things around the house. I desire to invest my money in my business but I also need a functioning home, so sometimes I have to make those financial sacrifices.
As soon as I released is book, 6 months later I lost my 6-figure job and felt like an imposter promoting my book telling women to go after their dreams. however, as stated, my bounce back is real.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am extremely creative. I design notebooks, planners and accessories such as phone cases, pop sockets and more all on Canva. I know the resources of where I can print these items to turn them into physical products. I do teach my clients in my coaching to create their own products. digital and physical.
I am known for my book Be Gentle With Yourself, which is sold in a book bundle ( coloring book and notebooks), all which I designed on Canva.
What sets me apart from others is that I’ve done what others are trying to do and I don’t gatekeep on how I get it done.
I am very energetic, very outgoing and people compliment me all the time on how I am smiling and happy all the time.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Creating memories with my son makes me happy. For example taking him on vacations, exploring other cities. Taking him to eat new foods and going to NFL games so he can see his fav player.
Eating out with friends makes me happy. Spa dates and pool parties. Love a good party!
