Life & Work with Prince Young of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Prince Young.

Hi Prince, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story honestly started long before social media. I’ve always been known for having good energy, making people laugh, and naturally bringing people together. Even back in school and college, people would constantly ask me if I had a YouTube channel or if I was famous because of my personality and how entertaining I was naturally.

Growing up, I was also my mother’s oldest child, so I carried a lot of responsibility early on. I helped take care of my younger sisters while balancing sports, school, and life. Basketball became a huge part of who I was. I played throughout school, continued playing in college, and eventually played for the All-Army basketball team after joining the Army.

My military journey shaped me tremendously. I served in the Army and was eventually deployed to Afghanistan during the COVID era. That experience taught me discipline, leadership, mental toughness, and how to keep pushing through adversity no matter the environment.

Before content creation became serious for me, I honestly didn’t even fully understand what being a YouTuber really was. At the time, I just considered myself a hooper focused on basketball and life. But through Snapchat and social media, my videos and personality started naturally gaining attention and views because people connected with my humor, authenticity, and energy. Over time, I ended up meeting and becoming friends with well-known YouTubers and creators, which opened my eyes to the possibilities of digital media and content creation.

That’s when I realized I could turn my creativity, personality, and life experiences into something bigger. Since then, I’ve been building my brand “HypemanPrince” across multiple platforms through comedy, public interviews, social experiments, basketball content, music, motivational content, and faith-based encouragement.

Today, my goal is bigger than just going viral. I want to inspire people, entertain at a high level, create opportunities for others, and build a lasting media and entertainment brand that impacts culture in a positive way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Another major challenge was transitioning through different phases of life. Basketball was my main focus for years — I played throughout school, college, and even for the All-Army basketball team. Then COVID happened, and shortly after I was deployed to Afghanistan. That season of life changed my perspective completely. Being overseas during such an uncertain time tested me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

When I got deeper into content creation, I also faced challenges with consistency, self-doubt, learning the business side of social media, and understanding how to turn creativity into a real career. At first, I didn’t even realize the impact I had on people. I was just naturally funny, energetic, and entertaining. Even though my videos were getting views and attention, I still saw myself mainly as an athlete and not a creator.

There were also moments where people didn’t fully understand my vision, and I had to keep believing in myself even before things fully came together. Balancing content creation, music, entrepreneurship, personal life, and healing from life experiences hasn’t always been easy.

But every obstacle taught me discipline, adaptability, and perseverance. Those experiences shaped my mindset and helped me become the creator, leader, and entrepreneur I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a content creator, entertainer, artist, entrepreneur, and storyteller who specializes in creating content that connects with people emotionally while also entertaining them. Through my brand “HypemanPrince,” I create comedy skits, public interviews, social experiments, basketball content, music, motivational content, and faith-based encouragement across multiple social media platforms.

A big part of what sets me apart is my energy and authenticity. I’ve always naturally been someone people gravitated toward because of my personality, humor, and ability to make people feel comfortable and inspired. Even before I understood the creator industry, my videos on Snapchat and social media would consistently gain attention because people genuinely connected with who I was.

My background also gives me a unique perspective creatively. I’m a military veteran who served in the Army and was deployed to Afghanistan, while also balancing athletics and leadership responsibilities throughout my life. I played basketball through school, college, and for the All-Army basketball team. Those experiences taught me discipline, resilience, teamwork, and how to perform under pressure — all of which now influence the way I create content and build my brand.

What I’m most proud of is being able to inspire and entertain people while staying true to myself. I’ve built relationships with well-known creators, grown a loyal audience, and continue expanding into music, media, business, and entertainment. More than just creating viral moments, my goal is to leave a positive impact, motivate others to pursue their purpose, and build a lasting brand that represents creativity, authenticity, and leadership.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
One thing I’d like readers to know is that success doesn’t always start with having everything figured out. Sometimes your purpose finds you through your experiences, struggles, and the people you impact along the way. I went from being focused mainly on basketball and the military to discovering a passion for entertainment, storytelling, and inspiring people through content.

I also want people to understand that authenticity matters. In a world where many people try to copy trends, I’ve learned that simply being yourself consistently can open doors you never imagined. A lot of my growth came naturally because people connected with my real personality, energy, humor, and story.

Most importantly, I want my journey to encourage others not to give up on themselves. Whether it’s sports, business, music, content creation, or life in general, discipline, faith, resilience, and consistency can take you further than you think. I’m still growing, still learning, and still building — but I truly believe this is only the beginning for everything I’m called to do.
