Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyra Green
Hi Tyra , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began training and competing as a Track athlete at age 12. I was encouraged by a Church member who knew the Track Coach to join the Track team. My parents were excited for me to embark on the opportunity to join the team by supporting me at all practices, and traveling with me to the competitions. I continued to train and compete, won races, and set records throughout High School and at the Collegiate level. I built a foundation that would help me throughout my life when faced with challenges. The sport challenged me to work hard for my goals and to always do my best with the winners’ mindset of “Wining is a Mentality” on and off the Track. At age 15, I signed with my first Agent appearing in fashion shows, local and regional television commercials and later appearing in Short Films and Movies. I was determined to continue achieving success whether I was on the Track racing or pursuing a career in Modeling and Acting. After completing my Bachelor’s degree in College and a Masters degree, I was provided a lot of exposure to Modeling and Acting, which led to opportunities in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. Some of my most notable accomplishments are: featured role on Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and The Have Nots” Season 5, Northside Magazine 7-page spread, 4-page spread in Summers Magazine, walking the runway for Banana Republic, Lead role in South Beach Tow, and Hosting events.
Today, I am a new member of Atlanta Track Club preparing for the upcoming season, and I am signed to V Management Group with goals to work with major Fitness brands and Fashion Brands. The support I have from my family, friends, and fans I am living my purpose everyday, all while being an inspiration to others around the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an athlete teaches you to “expect the unexpected” which is a quote that my High School track Coach often said to me and the team. I learned to prepare and adjust to challenges on the track and in the talent audition rooms that my agent would send me to. The road to my success was not always easy. I had to network, gain other skills such as script writing to create my own film projects to open my own doors instead of waiting on opportunities within the entertainment industry. Taking my time to perfect my craft allowed me to see that I can achieve anything that I work hard for.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Track athlete, Model, Actress, and Host. I am a sprinter who won many Regional and State Championships alongside my teammates in previous years. I am known as a published Model featured in several Magazines and lead Acting roles. I am most proud of my goal to be published in Magazines when I first started my career in Modeling. I worked really hard over the years to finally achieved that goal. What sets me apart from others is that I’m multifaceted and bring a lot of different skills and talent to an audition room. I’m thankful for my athletic ability and talent.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is that I show all of my gifts and talents to the world to inspire others and lead them to Christ. God gave me the natural ability to achieve my goals and to glorify Him.
