Meet Angela Glass of Forum Classical Pilates & Barre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Glass.

Hi Angela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey to opening Forum Pilates Studio has been shaped by a lifelong passion for health, wellness, and helping others. I’m a registered nurse by profession, and throughout my career I’ve always been drawn to practices that promote both physical and mental well-being.

I discovered Pilates during a season of life when I was looking for a smarter, more sustainable way to stay strong and healthy. What began as a personal fitness practice quickly became something much more. I experienced firsthand how Classical Pilates improved my strength, balance, posture, and overall confidence. More importantly, it helped me feel capable and resilient in everyday life.

As my appreciation for the method grew, I decided to pursue teacher training and immerse myself in the study of Classical Pilates. The more I learned, the more I realized the incredible value of preserving the integrity of the original method as Joseph Pilates intended. That passion eventually led me to open Forum Pilates Studio in Waxahachie.

Today, Forum is a boutique Classical Pilates studio focused on personalized instruction, meaningful relationships, and building a strong community. One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been sharing it with my daughter, Monroe. What started as my personal passion has become something we now enjoy and grow together.

Looking back, every step—from nursing to Pilates instruction to studio ownership—has been centered on helping people feel stronger, healthier, and more confident in their own bodies. I’m grateful to be able to do that work every day through Forum Pilates Studio.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We have only recently stepped into this space and are just beginning our journey as business owners. Naturally, we’ve faced challenges along the way—from learning new technology and managing the day-to-day operations of a studio to creating a schedule that is both consistent and sustainable for our clients and ourselves. But having each other to bounce ideas off of, problem-solve, and navigate the ups and downs has helped us find our footing. We have also been incredibly fortunate to receive overwhelming support from our family, friends, and the Waxahachie community. Their encouragement and belief in us have made this journey even more meaningful, and we are truly grateful.

We’ve been impressed with Forum Classical Pilates & Barre, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets Forum apart is our commitment to the Classical Pilates method and our belief that fitness should be both effective and sustainable. We are not a large, high-volume studio. Instead, we intentionally keep our classes small so that every client receives the guidance, encouragement, and corrections they need to progress safely and confidently. Whether someone is completely new to Pilates, recovering from an injury, or looking to maintain strength and mobility as they age, we meet them where they are and help them move toward their goals.

We are especially passionate about serving clients who want more than just a workout. At Forum, Pilates is about building a strong foundation for everyday life—helping people move better, feel better, and continue doing the things they love for years to come. Our clients often tell us they appreciate the welcoming, non-intimidating atmosphere where they feel supported, challenged, and genuinely cared for.

Brand-wise, we are most proud of the community we are building. We wanted Forum to be a place where people feel seen, encouraged, and connected—not just another fitness studio. The name “Forum” reflects that vision: a place where people come together to learn, grow, and support one another. We are proud to offer a space that values meaningful relationships just as much as meaningful movement.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
We want our clients to know that Pilates is for everyone. You do not have to be a certain age, flexible, or athletic to begin. Our mission is to help people of all ages and abilities discover the transformative benefits of Classical Pilates through trained instruction, genuine encouragement, and a supportive community. When I first started, I felt confused and in the dark at a fast paced contemporary studio. But as I learned more about the roots of traditional pilates, I found a smaller studio that was true to the method, met me where I was at, and helped me grow in my practice. So much so, that I wanted to bring that level of care in a health and wellness space to my hometown.
