Meet Asia Williamson of A JENN WONDERLAND in Flower Mound

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Williamson.

Asia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Art, in general, is the only I’ve always understood and did correctly. I was born into creativity and self-expression since a child. Growing up wearing what I felt adding all types of accessories down to my socks, taking pictures of my outfits, turn into a passion for fashion designing making my own look, photography, modeling even set designing having the right ambiance is very important for setting any type of scene. But I mainly do it because it is fun and being an artist has opened doors for me to be able to express myself on different platforms.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For any artist, it’s always an inner battle you have with yourself. For me, the biggest struggle I have is doing what I love and doing what I have to get by on my day to day life and not having the mundaneness of life boggle me down. I’m trying to find a good balance between them and even in little things like incorporating my own spice to express itself when I’m at school or work or when I feel stagnant to find a way to release my expression so more creative thoughts can grow and I won’t get stuck.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I created a website over summer called AJENNWONDERLAND. I can easily say it was the best thing I could for myself. My audience is the world, artists, and day to day people who need just need inspiration. Just breaking down what my website is about “ AJENN” is obviously me Asia Jennifer, “WONDERLAND” is used to describe my fantasies of life and how I make it reality through my work on my site. Photographs, manifestos, and short films It’s all there and it’s all me. In the next year as I build on AJENNWONDERLAND, my goal is to open a retail tab selling my own designs and accessories.

The divine, my friends, my lovers, and my mother have all inspired me to be who I am.
