Today we’d like to introduce you to Audri Lew.
Hi Audri, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I am the one & only Audri Lew (Stage Name) & I’m an upcoming independent music artist, from the Northeast Texas area! I’ve performed my songs locally in the ArkLaTex area for about 4 years now. I enjoy writing & performing rap/hip hop & RnB type of songs. I been writing songs since I was 9 years old, it started as a hobby but soon turned into a passion & my outlet to escape everyday life struggles. I chose to pursue a career in music back in 2015 after I released my first single on SoundCloud and got positive & encouraging feedback from my local supporters to “keep going”. It wasn’t until 2018 I built up enough courage & confidence to shoot & release my first music video to a released single called “They Don’t Know Me” on YouTube. That landed me my first performance gig in the Dallas area. I gained some traction after I uploaded a Freestyle to a challenge to win a verse offered by an artist by the name of Moneybagg Yo, in which he reposted it on his music page and I hit 30k views that same week off that video. I soon gained some more buzz & did my first interview with an online radio station by the name of DFWiradio that gave me some more recognition. After that, I just kept recording & releasing more songs, which led me to more performing gigs/opportunities.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not. I have endured some close losses to death including both parents. I also became a mother in 2016, & we all know that is a full-time job within itself. So, the road has not been smooth for me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an independent music artist that writes, record, & perform my own songs. The Genre that I specialize in is Rap/hip-hop & R&B. I am known for “showing up and showing out” on the microphone at any live music event that I’m on the flyer to perform at! I’m most proud of how I’ve still been able to inspire others through my music despite the setbacks and struggles I’ve had to face along my journey. I believe that my versatile styles and flows on different beats is what sets me apart from others.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I would like to give credit to a radio personality by the name of “Just Relle” for discovering me off SoundCloud and offering me my first opportunity to get my music heard on an internet radio station (DFWiRadio). Also, I have to give credit to DeMarquis aka “Big Bamboo CEO” for believing in my potential and supporting me to shoot my first two music videos that are still on YouTube today. And I can’t leave out Chris, “DJ Hollygrove”, Daly for playing my music in his rotations at parties & also giving me opportunities to perform at the car shows and other music events!
