Meet Benjamin Davis of Murray’s Minimart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Davis.

Hi Benjamin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Originally I’m from Tulsa Oklahoma, I migrated here to Dallas in 2008. I originally wanted to be a professional basketball player my entire life. I made it all the way to college and ran out of financial aid during my second year. So I came back home. I worked for two years and then I was introduced into entrepreneurship. During my time at this business, I was doing life insurance and building a team in PHP. I did that for four years. If I would’ve never did that it would’ve never led me to my next. It helped me grow thick skin, learn how to grow and build my own team, and how to scale at an exponential level without having to buy a LEADS in whatever business I decided to do after. A few months into doing that business I learned about vending machines but I put a pause on doing that business so I can actually learn how to grow a business. Fast forward four years, I now run a decently successful vending machine business. They’re not just any machines they’re AI smart coolers. So instead of your traditional machines with the motors and the coils, these are cashless smart machines with an AI tracking system in the cameras and you can open the door to grab what you want. With several now placed around DFW area, I was able to scale at a quick rate. I got my first location at the end of March 2026, I got three more two weeks later. Now with several more to come two months after starting the business, I would’ve never been able to do this without my previous life insurance business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a very smooth road. Whether we’re talking about my first business or my now business. It took a full month and a half for me to find my first location for my vending machine business. During that timeframe I had spoken to over 100 businesses and apartment complexes because success loves speed. A lot of of them are either Corporate owned and I was too small for them or I kept getting so many “maybe” that when I finally got a yes I was able to get a machine in there right away. Meanwhile, the locations who are stuck in “maybeland” still has no machines, that’s how fast I move. In my previous business, I was so dedicated that I had moments of utter lostness, living in my car, still building growing a team, and no one knew what I was going through. But that truly showed how Relentless I was and how resilient I can be. Now starting to do something different it was smoother, but I still have my own mental battles and uphill struggles.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
So at Murray’s Minimart, we specialize in curating the machine to the location and listening to the request of the customers. I mainly specialize with gyms (as a former athlete), warehouses, and apartment complex. What sets me apart from other vendors would be my customer service and how a tentative. I am with the workers and customers. You’ll never see me without a smile and asking you how your day was. The thing I’m most proud of brand wise, I built something from scratch that serves people 24/7 and creates opportunities for me, my family, and eventually other people. I’d like for others to know how passionate about solving the problem of people needing something when stores are closed, not around, and saving them a 10 minute drive because gas is expensive and my products are not. If you can help with finding locations, you’ll get a referral fee.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
The biggest mentor I’ve ever had would have to be Matthew Sapaula. We never had any one-on-one direct coaching, but we were in proximity of each other. I want to model my entire life after him. I like the way how he coached his people, I liked how he conducted business, and he didn’t like losing just like me. Because of his teaching, I found one of the best downlines anyone could have and now they have a very successful agency. My biggest supporters is definitely my mother and a close friend of mine named, Aaron. It was because of Aaron I never quit the business sooner than later. And now that I’m off doing something different those same two are the ones that are still my biggest cheerleaders with a new plus two named, Manny and Ace. Manny will be filming my documentary too.
