Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Martinez Lopez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Brandy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started as a massage therapist 7 years ago when my mother was diagnosed with primary progressive MS. I worked with chiropractors as a massage therapist for several years until I decided to become independent. I found the perfect location in Pantego to start my business. I later decided to expand my services to esthetics, airbrush tanning and eyelash extensions. I have been a full-time student working on my business degree since day one. I am also a wife, mother of three boys and have a grand baby boy.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When I first started my struggles where trying to find enough business to keep me going. But I didn’t sit around and wait, I went out and acted on it. I did so well with massage therapy that I went to school full time for esthetic. I struggled keeping up with working four 10-12 hour days and being in school 11 hours three days a week.
I didn’t rest! Now I’m working seven days a week 8-10 hours with clients doing even more services than before. It has also been a challenge to keep up with office work and websites. I have done it all myself.

My business is now an esthetic specialty spa. I specialize in corrective facials, skin peels, body services like body wraps, peels, massages, airbrush tanning, and eyelash extensions. I am most proud of the business because the services that I provide are always customized to each person and because of the skill and knowledge that I put into it. I’m set apart from the others because I truly care about each person that walks into my spa and helping them change their skin.
What were you like growing up?
As a child, I spent a lot of time with my siblings and cousins. There is 12 altogether. We would spend the summer at our grandparent’s house. We would definitely cause a lot of ruckus; my pawpaw would say! I remember playing “office” at their house and getting into my Nana’s office supplies and writing checks because I wanted to be a business woman when I grew up.
