Meet Brooke Andrews of The Angel Gift Company in Southlake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Andrews.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The Angel Gift was created out of the need to give something meaningful and purpose driven to the children of my close friends living out of state. Without physically being in their lives, I wanted to gift them something that would help shape who they would become rather than gift another baby bottle or blanket. As I researched, I could not find a baby gift that would bring them closer with God and give them a tangible object to remind them of His love every day. The Angel Gift was born to fill that void and create a new, Christian market space for baby gifts. Since its inception, I realized it is helping children in ways I had not previously imagined offering hope and comfort to children that are suffering from an illness, loss of a loved one, experiencing their parents divorcing or having anxiety. One in every ten books sold is given to a child battling cancer. Since our launch one year ago, we are now sold in over one hundred stores in the United States and been featured on Great Day Houston, Southlake Style, and BizTV. We continue to grow and appreciate every single customer that gifts The Angel Gift.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Struggles come with any new product to a market. Our largest struggle is to help consumers identify the need for The Angel Gift. Suicide rates are climbing and children are struggling with a world of technology that we did not have to navigate when we were young. As a Christian, I am taught through the Word to “Train up a child when they are young and they will not depart when they grow old” Proverbs 22:6. The need to remind children they are loved is as great as its ever been. The Angel Gift is one small step to teach that from an early age. The board book reminds children their prayers are heard, they are not alone and always loved. The board book comes with a matching angel plush to serve as that tangible reminder every day.

What else should our readers know?
We are most proud of our commitment to serve and give back. Not only can we feel good about the results of little children that are reminded they are loved through our book set but the fact that we give those books to children that have been diagnosed with cancer and really need to hear that their prayers are heard. We give one in ten books to a child battling as well as a portion of profit to build schools in Nepal that would not otherwise have the education.

I believe that God has designed this project from the beginning and I am doing my best to hear his voice before making decisions every day.
