Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitie Andreen.
Caitie Andreen is a singer and songwriter based in Dallas. Andreen began writing songs when she was 12 years old. Over the years, her songwriting transformed from what she calls a secret passion. It wasn’t until her early 20’s, she decided to open up about her portfolio of songs and pursue music professionally. She took the leap of faith, quitting her job at a news station in Dallas/Fort Worth and moving to Nashville in 2016. She brought with her a selection of songs she began writing while living in Texas and Arizona.
During her time in Nashville, she wrote with some of the best songwriters in Music City, including those who have written for the likes of Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and more.
Andreen made the move back to Dallas to continue pursuing her career as an artist and songwriter, this time in the Texas Country Music scene. Andreen is a member of the Dallas Songwriter’s Association and you can find her playing at various venues across the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
“Caitie is one of the most talented songwriters I’ve come across in Nashville in recent years,” says Dave Moody, Andreen’s Grammy®-nominated producer and Lamon Records president. “She truly has an amazing gift of stringing catchy lyrics and melody together.”
Caitie Andreen released her debut 6-track EP, “These Days” with Lamon Records on November 16, 2019. Each song selected for the record is either written or co-written by Andreen. Andreen has performed at various venues around the South and is set for a radio tour following the release of her record.
Andreen is set to release her next single on November 22. The single title is yet to be announced.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nashville brought me several struggles, struggles I continue to work through in Dallas.
Moving to Nashville in a city where I didn’t know anyone at all was a struggle. It helped me get out of my comfort zone and grow in my self-confidence.
Yet, during my time in Nashville, I fought comparison and insecurity. While I love music in Nashville, I felt Labels and publishing companies in Nashville were looking for a particular Nashville brand. I struggled to stay true to my own music and write the songs I felt represented me best as an artist. At first, I let my music fade more into the Nashville Country Music genre, something very different to me than Texas Country Music, where my roots and passion for Country Music initially began. With my last record, I stayed true to my sound to the best that I could. But, I felt in order to perform in the venues I wanted and give the sound I feel my songs deserve, Texas was calling. Leaving Nashville was hard, but in the end, I knew it was right both for me personally and for my sound.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Songwriting is my passion.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am currently in the studio finishing my upcoming single, set to be released on November 22. I couldn’t be more excited to release another song, with a sound I feel is most true yet to who I am as an artist.
