Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Booker.
Candice, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I was 15 years old, I customized my first outfit using fabric material I found at my grandmother’s house to attend a high school football game. I knew we didn’t have money for the latest trends but I was determined to rock the hottest styles out. I created a two-piece signature look which ultimately fueled my desire to be a part of the Fashion and Apparel industry. Family, friends, and acquaintance would often seek fashion and style tips from me to achieve a look I define as “Sophisticated Chic.”
In 2017, with less than $3,000 in start-up capital and a dream, Elle Reaux established a brand tailored for women that desire classy ensembles with a bit of edge and most of all affordable. The brand name integrates my true identity between family and my true Louisiana native culture.
Has it been a smooth road?
Working a full-time job and going to college full time, I struggled with establishing brand consistency. I made a commitment after obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in 2019, I would focus on my true passion. After 8 years in the financial industry in January 2020, I switched gears and started my entrepreneurship journey full-time.
As an entrepreneur facing adversities is all a part of the process of your journey. I learned creating a plan and remaining consistent is the key to succeeding in this business.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Elle Reaux story. Tell us more about the business.
Elle Reaux is a premier online fashion and apparel brand that originated for women in 2017. We work with sustainable brands that promote high-quality affordable fashion. We market young professionals with trendy to young contemporary style. Sophisticated chic is how we classify our womenswear.
In summer 2020 we expanded our product reach with our menswear’s line “Breaux.” With suave characteristics and dapper appeal, Breaux is the blueprint for modern menswear.
