Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol-Lynn Lindamood.
Hi Carol-Lynn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Carol-Lynn Lindamood, and I have been in the service industry and bartending since 2014. I started out working in restaurants until I was asked by a customer if I had ever bartended for weddings. I got my first wedding and corporate bartending events in 2016 after I graduated from Tarleton State University. I then partnered with Joyce Rule, owner of Longhorn Hill Party Barn in Anna, TX where I started working all of her private events. There were too many events for me to handle on my own, so that is when I started searching for other bartenders who wanted to work in private events. In 2021, I knew it was time to expand my business to include a staff that could service other local venues, and that is when Two Pour Gals was created. Since then, we have become preferred vendors for over 10 venues in the North Texas area, worked over 200 weddings, birthday, corporate parties, and charity events, and are continuing to grow our services with service staff, clean-up crews, and mobile bar tops!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, I have had great success with this business. The hardest part has been trying to find reliable bartenders and figuring out the right permits and licensing you need to operate a mobile bar. The events industry and bartending community is actually amazing for helping with advice along the way.
We’ve been impressed with Two Pour Gals Bartending, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We have a staff of 4 bartenders for events and are female-owned and operated. We are a dry-hire bartending company, which means you provide the alcohol and are hiring us for our service for the event. I personally work with each client on planning the bar for their event, from how much alcohol, mixers, cups, or garnishments to purchase. We arrive early to set up the bar area and stay after to break down and close the bar. We also offer service staff for servers during your meal or for a buffet and can provide a setup / break down the team as well. I feel that being a dry hire bartending company and setting up at the bar that the venues typically have sets us apart from others because it really helps keep the cost of the bar down. Although this has been our main business model, we are expanding to offer more options for clients to choose from!
We want people to have a great time with exceptional service at a reasonable cost.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Definitely, do your research when starting out on what licenses and proper insurance you need to operate. Build connections with local venues that you see yourself working at. This industry is all about connections, so build them within the event community! We work with some great vendors that refer us and vice versa, then you get to work with people that you know. Find a team that aligns with your values because once you grow, you will need it!
