Thanks for sharing your story with us Cora. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always loved photography since I was a kid, I used to just steal my grandmas or my mom’s camera and take pictures at birthday parties or Christmas. When I got into high school I realized that I could do so much more with photography than I had planned. I started taking photography classes and even joining photojournalism. I fell in love with sports photography and portraits and now work as a photographer/social media manager for a boutique in Nacogdoches Texas.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was not a smooth road with my photography journey just because I came from a family that didn’t have a lot of money so I couldn’t even afford a camera. I spent my first two years of high school just checking out cameras from my school and using them. I finally got my camera and it was so much easier to continue my job outside of school.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
For my photography business right now I specialize in portraits and fashion photography. I work for Sparkle Boutique and I take pictures for their social media/website. I can be set apart from other companies because unlike most portrait photographers, I like to keep the subject looking as natural as possible rather than perfect and fake looking. I can also branch out and do many other types of photography such as sports photography which I would love to get more experience in. I also spent a lot of time doing pet photography and I loved it and would love to continue with pet photography.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Dallas is a great place to expand a business just because you can have such a variety of clients no matter your area of work. Dallas is always changing and always growing and you can grow your business with the city.
