Meet Corey Frazier of Kidd Luna in Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Frazier.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Corey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started out Djing under a different alias in 2011. I used to be known as Paperkutz Djing house party’s and banquets. A good friend Mychal of mine who was a manager at the time for Zumiez help me get a monthly Djing in the store. Also helping me score a few midnight releases for the PS4 console and one of Call of Duty titles. Shortly after, I started working on music production with stand alone analog equipment such as KORGS electribes. During this time, it gave birth to the Kidd Luna side project. I started to release music and edits on SoundCloud under the Kidd Luna alias in 2014-2015. At that time, I only used a Korg sampler for all of my producing.

In 2016, I self-released an EP call “Analog Love” which was my last release before I changed my sound and equipment. I got my first big show through PRIME playing a closing outset for Autograf while they were touring. It’s was scary and exhilarating because it was short notice and my laptop screen had been broken for a few weeks and was using an old computer monitor. I started getting more shows through PRIME playing alongside other artist such as Manila Killa, Mayhem, Subtact, Ekali, and Tokimonsta.

I release and EP called “Siri and Me” on PRIME and “Untitled Products” on No Parents No Rules in 2018. 2019 was filled with plenty of challenges and that I had to over come releasing singles on various internet labels while working two jobs. A good friend of mine Brashad aka Metaphysic also started a podcast call Third Coast Bass Radio showcasing various artist in Texas in Beyond. Hopefully 2020 will be nourishing and growth for all of my friends and myself no matter what creative outlet they choose to express themselves.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For sure, it has been a challenge and self-motivation can be one of the hardest to deal with.

Please tell us about Kidd Luna.
I make music and graphics and mostly know for energetic songs and sound design. My music is very diverse and doesn’t stick to one genre.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I were to start over, I would just start sooner.
