Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Sorensen.
Crystal, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been in the beauty industry for ten years this June and running a beauty salon has always been my goal. There were some events in the past two and half years that have really enabled my opportunity to be able to start my own business I’ve been leasing a suite inside a legacy salon but now I’m able to open my storefront this May focusing on lash extensions and micro blading.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The hardest challenge was having to leave a family business to venture off on my own. With only a handful of clients I was definitely a bit nervous. I have really learned some marketing skills just by using social media. The best part is this whole experience has given me freedom.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fauxcil – what should we know?
The main focus I have is really being able to make any person who comes to me with their beauty needs feel like they have had a personal experience where they really feel cared for. I specialize in extending a client’s lashes by applying a false lash to each individual lash hair…
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I would definitely have to give credit to my sisters Jamie and Erica Sorensen without those two I don’t think I would have been able to do this my sister Jamie has helped me with my two young kids and my crazy schedule and my sister Erica is my co-worker we have always worked well together.. Also my very close friend Ni she somehow sets a good vibe every time she’s in the salon. A majority of my clients have some years of like experience and to hear all their good advice has really opened me up to trying new things and believing in myself.
