Derrek and Aundria, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
For us, fashion and style has been a way of life for as long as we remember. Beginning with the way my parents dressed me growing up. I’ve always had and been a fashion influence. My wife and partner has also been in the fashion industry for almost 20 years. We actually met at Nordstrom. When we started Scouts Honor Clothing Company we were just having fun and trying to make something different.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
By no means has it been smooth. Starting a business is not easy. We built this from the ground up, no outside investors, no big budgets, just us. It was the 10-12 hour days working for somebody else that gave us the ability to do this. Then September 2019, when I was laid off, I had to make a choice go find another job or go harder for my own business and my family. I chose to honor myself and my family. I chose Scout’s Honor.
Then 2020 COVID hit. With us not having a brick and mortar store, we build awareness by getting out and interacting with the people. When people can’t see the product in person, that presents its own challenges. Thankfully we are able to connect with people via social media in the meantime.

We offer a full range of essential items in a full range of sizes. Our specialty pieces are custom made to suit your individual lifestyle and your personal fashion needs. We are most known for our custom collar polos – a step up from t-shirts and hoodies.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
What we’re most proud of? Honestly, we get excited every single time we make a sale. Just knowing that people truly enjoy the product that we are putting out makes us extremely proud.
