Meet Emily Thoes of Training Health Physical Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Thoes.

Hi Emily, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been a physical therapist since 2017, starting out in general orthopedics before discovering my passion for working with active adults who love sports and fitness. That passion led me to become Barbell Rehab certified and earn my Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential so I could guide patients through rehab that truly matches the intensity of their training and hobbies.

In 2022, I expanded my practice into pelvic floor physical therapy, with a special focus on pelvic pain and how pelvic floor dysfunction can impact women’s performance in fitness and sports.

After years of working in a traditional insurance-based PT model, I realized the system often limited both the quality of care I could provide and how far my patients could progress. That’s why, in late 2024, I started Training Health Physical Therapy—to create a space where patients can receive truly individualized, high-quality care without restrictions.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The past 10 months as a business owner have been such a season of growth. Every week I’m learning something new—about running a business, connecting with people, and building a network of patients across Dallas. It hasn’t been without its challenges, but the learning curve has been worth it!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Training Health Physical Therapy?
At Training Health Physical Therapy, I’m passionate about helping patients go beyond simply managing pain—I want to get you back to moving and performing at your best. My gym-based office inside Diesel Fitness in Uptown gives me the unique opportunity to watch how you lift, move, and train so we can connect your rehab directly to what matters most to you. My goal is not only to help you recover in your daily life, but to keep you in the gym, on the field, or in your favorite fitness class.

While there are many wonderful pelvic floor providers in Dallas, it can be harder to find someone who will help you address your issues while guiding you back to lifting, training, and feeling stronger than ever. For added convenience and privacy, I offer in-home pelvic floor PT appointments. As patients gain confidence in managing their symptoms and understanding their bodies, we can transition into Diesel Fitness for more advanced strengthening and performance training.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m so excited to keep growing Training Health PT! This year I’m looking forward to meeting more amazing patients, building new partnerships around Dallas, and helping people not just get out of pain, but get back to doing what they love. There are definitely challenges that come with running a business, but I can’t wait to see where this next year takes me.
