Meet Fawset of DFW

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fawset.

Hi Fawset, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Fawset started by accident. Collectively we all came together as a rag tag group of musicians who recognized each others talents. Frank (drummer) and Arny (guitarist) had been playing together in another project and had been talking about starting something new. One random Sunday a friend of Frank’s messaged him about Monica(singer) at karaoke at the Goat in Lakewood,Dallas (shoutout Javi) and suggested he work with her. After an initial jam Frank suggested bringing in Mollie(keys) as they had worked together in the past and had wanted to have an original group going with her included. From there Arny brought in Irving(bass), who he had also worked with in previous projects. Officially a group as of February 2024 we have played 2 shows at Josey Records for record store day and their 10 year anniversary, and a house party at Mollies home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Since we met everything has been ridiculously natural and has felt as though we were meant to play together.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a soul/funk/pop band trying to make as much noise as we can in the Dallas music scene and hopefully the world. Releasing our first single Joyride is the thing we are most proud of to date and look forward to releasing other projects we have in the works. What do you think sets us apart?

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Seeing as we just started the sky is the limit for us. Everything is an unknown but we’re enjoying the adventure as we go along. If it’s meant to be it’ll be. Well play as long as people listen and were having fun with it.
