Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Jones.
Hi Gabrielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started modeling my senior year in high school in 2022, I did my first shoot with a rapper for a magazine. I then branched out to doing fashion shows. It came so naturally, I knew I was beginning to quite literally walk into one of my many purposes. As I started moving up in the modeling industry, I was doing more music videos, photo shoots for brands and less fashion shows. I started designing my own outfits at the end of 2024 and I’ve fallen in love with learning how to be different creatively in my own special way. My career of being a designer took off just as fast as me being a model. Simultaneously, me being a designer and a model became my norm. My dreams of being able to walk into a room without introducing myself came quicker than I expected. I’ve always been my own special kind of creative. Since a kid I’ve alwaysss loved being different, even if that meant being alone a lot of the time. From my very unique fashion sense and very bold personality, I knew I was destined to be a star. I based my clothing line to be a backbone for my organization that helps the homeless, dv survivors, women & children, and the animal shelters. Why help one when I have the capability and capacity to help all?
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has come with challenges not just around me but within myself. Modeling takes a LOT of mental strength and discipline. Being designer takes just as much mental strength. Sometimes it would feel like I wasn’t good enough to be chosen to model for a brand or a show. But I snapped out of it quickly and realized I had to ultimately choose myself everytime. Not just when it feels good but also, when it feels bad. Life keeps going even when you feel stuck. Lack of support from people in my circle also was one of my biggest struggles. My family would doubt me a lot of the times and for all of my shows and photoshoots I didn’t have anybody that was in my circle there to support me. Whenever I looked into the crowd it was nothing but strangers. I had to pick myself up and remind myself of my end goal.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in modeling and designing for my clothing brand. I’m also a creative director! I’ve always had a special vision for every room i’ve walked into, every fabric I’ve seen/touched, and every photoshoot I’ve been in. I’m most proud of my ability to take whatever vision I have and make it into a reality.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love all of the creativeness that pours out of our people. I love the people that actually value community and respect. I don’t like the other side that lives to use everyone around them for the wrong reasons.
