Today we’d like to introduce you to Geshe Boyd-Steele.
Hi Geshe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Géshé Boyd-Steele (Pronounced Gay-sha “Geisha”). I’m currently a Registered Nurse. I’ve been working in healthcare for over a decade. I began my career as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. After two years of gaining healthcare knowledge and experience, I pursued studies as a vocational nurse. Following graduation from the LVN program, I immediately began studying for my entry-level exam into the LVN to RN program. After acceptance, enrollment, and completing the LVN-RN program from Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Tx, I was accepted into the bachelor’s nursing program. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with my bachelor’s of science in nursing. My specialty has been psychiatric and medical surgical nursing. I’m currently enrolled in the Master’s of Nursing program with dual specialty to become an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I have a passion for caring for people. I will be offering care services through my assisted living homes opening on March 1st, 2022.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been an easy one. I was a single mom at the age of 19. I worked two and sometimes three jobs to sustain a living for myself and my daughters while continuing my education. I would work during the day and attend evening/night classes with my infant child and toddler daughter. My mother was and still has been my rock throughout my struggles. Since, I’ve found love in my darling husband, who supports me and keeps my spirits lifted.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I’m most proud of my brand because the name “Genacy” combines my and my daughter’s names. “GEshe, NAtalia and CYdnee.” My daughter’s motivated me to keep pushing and staying focused even through the sleepless night, stressful mornings, and thoughts of giving up.
I believe that what sets me apart from others is that I genuinely care. My clients would not find a more passionate, devoted, dedicated person to care for their loved ones. Many care homes make this claim, but I have grown my knowledge and skill to care for individuals and their loved ones. I’m a mom, wife, nurse, and nurturer. I want to do well by people and develop a team that shares this sentiment.
